Boy are u gullible. How many time has babs retired only to come out for one last over hyped concert? Come now do i need to name more? These folks love the limelight and can't stay away too long. Its called narcissm.

Good luck Julia; I have enjoyed you movies and I respect your desire to spend time with your children.
To: gopwinsin04
According to her
entry in the Internet Movie Database she's already basically retired. The last film she made was Ocean's Twelve and the two currently in production she's only doing a voice and making no appearance.

Her mouth was always too big for her face. I never did see how she was called a pretty woman. Her acting ability was only fair. I sure wont miss her.On a scale for pretty women she was at best a 6 1/2.

Maybe she will, maybe she won't. I don't care. I'm not invested in it one way or the other... just going by what the article says.

I agree with you. Good for Julia to want to raise her own children. I admire her for making that choice. She seems like she is thinking of what is best for her children.

She was one of the top stars in all of the business, although I think she was feeling Reese Witherspoons and Cameron Diaz's footsteps at the end.

The only gigs offered to her now are sequels to Ocean's 11.....

Wrong as can be. The Hollywood Reporter publishes a rating list of all working actors. It runs from 1 - 100. Any actor with a rating of 88 or above is considered A list. There are only thirteen names on that list and three share the top rating; Hanks, Cruise and Roberts.
We might think she sucks (I do) but the studios would still pour money into any project that she put her name to. That's the fact of it.

The remake of 'Charlottes Web' will be huge at the box office probably, that one has been due for an update.
To: Who dat?
Her brother has been retired since The Pope of Greenwich Village, I think.
------------------------------------
Eric Roberts has acted in over 100 movies since Pope.

But Julia probably cannot 'open' a film anymore by herself. (unless it is Pretty Woman 2 or Runaway Bride)
Though to her credit there are very few women on that list--Cameron Diaz, Reese Witherspooon and Sandra Bullock come to mind right away.

"I don't really care about her movies, and I won't take pot shots at them. I'd just think it's nice to see that she has placed her children as a priority."
That was my first thought too. I never thought Julia was that much of an "out front" liberal so as to engender all the vitriol on this thread. Maybe I missed her "It's my turn to bad mouth President Bush" press conference. I always thought she was more of a movie star than an actress. You know, charismatic on screen but always playing pretty much the same character - Julia Roberts. But if she's willing to bag the tinseltown scene to raise her kids that's a big plus for her priorities in my book. You go girl.

Good luck to her.
I hope she also has the good grace to refrain from making international and national political commentaries.

Darling picture! What a cutie!
To: joebuck
She's been a pretty strident liberal over the years, although mostly keeping it out of the press.
I do commend her decision to start a family though.

I'm sure in this remake, Charlotte becomes the Minister of Information for Wilbur the Homosexual Proletariat Pig to aid in his struggle against the two-legged American oppressors, in order to end evil capitalism and global warming. And somewhere in there will be a reference to the rise of fascism since 9/11.

Eric's best work to date was his role in "The Pope of Greenwich Village". He is the typical D Movie [TV Dramas and direct to DVD movies] actor today.

Eric Roberts has acted in over 100 movies since Pope. Really?
That's amazing. Where have I been?
I remember a bunch of people but not him. I figured he bailed out for better things... Then again, I can't really remember anything notable since then by Mickey Rourke either...
