Ex-president Bill Clinton now says he would have taken out Osama bin Laden before the 9/11 attacks if only the FBI and CIA had been able to prove the al-Qaida mastermind was behind the attack on the U.S.S. Cole.
"I desperately wish that I had been president when the FBI and CIA finally confirmed, officially, that bin Laden was responsible for the attack on the U.S.S. Cole," Clinton tells New York magazine this week. "Then we could have launched an attack on Afghanistan early."
"I dont know if it would have prevented 9/11," he added. "But it certainly would have complicated it.
Despite his failure to launch such an attack, Clinton said he saw the danger posed by bin Laden much more clearly than did President Bush.
"I always thought that bin Laden was a bigger threat than the Bush administration did," he told New York magazine.

Yeah, sure, what a tough guy.
You reminded me to revive my old tagline.

Can you imagine Streisand in designer fatigues belting out "People" for the US troops in Afghanistan and encouraging them to stand behind the CIC?
The anti-war Hollywood crowd is not genuinely against war, they are just against the man who is leading us in one right now.

LOL RIGHT! More evidence that liberals are lying sacks of s**t!
"What a lying sack of sh*t!"
That gave me such a good laugh .. I thought it should be repeated.
The USS Cole was hit in 2000. He attacked the tent and camel three days after he testified to the Independent Counsel and committed perjury. He might have claimed it was in retaliation for the embassy bombings. It was really a Wag the Dog.
Don't blame the Media. Bush has made it easy for Clinton. He has never called for the release of Clinton's videotape in front of the LIA admitting he refused Sudan's offer to take Bin Laden. During the 9/11 Commission the White House never called for Gorelick's resignation. And now, the White House has absolutely nothing to say about Able Danger.
I guess I shouldn't be surprised from a President who kept the dangerously incompetant George Tenet on at CIA so long after 9/11, but is there ANY point at which Bush will FIGHT???
Sudan offered him up. Three times.
The same reason he refused taking him in the three times he had the chance. According to Reno, he was not indictable.
My response: Yo! Bill. Listen up. You're waaaaaayyy more than a day late and a dollar short, man. Coulda. Shoulda. Woulda. That and a couple of dollars bummed off your latest female chum will get you some java at Starbucks. Face it, man. You blew it. Big time. Before long you'll just be a footnote in history. Right up there with the William Henry Harrisons, James Polks, James Buchanans, Andrew Johnsons, Jimmy Carters, and the other all-but-forgotten former presidents who came and went without leaving much of a mark on history.
Just when I was beginning to believe he was human.
I don't know why Bush 41 even gives this bozo the time of day.
"Why, I told every one of my girlfriends and golfing buddies just what a dad burn jerk that Osama was. I would have done something about it, too, if I didn't have so many of those darn pardons to hand out at the last minute"
Clinton did not want to do what had to be done --- send troops to the Middle East to take out Saddam Hussein. He wanted his legacy to be peace and prosperity. It is easy to have peace, at least temporarily, by not solving the problem that needs to be solved. He left his foreign policy nightmares for Bush to fix.
HE WAS OTHERWISE OCCUPIED.
