I apparently am the sacrificial lamb of the peace movement. I don't care about myself. Putting myself in the forefront and daring to challenge the president on his lies left myself open to the attacks. Which are, of course, half truths and distortions.

When they start sliming my home life and my family, that's where I draw the line. Yes, my husband has filed for divorce and yes he filed before I left for the VFP Convention and this trip to Crawford and yes IT IS BETWEEN MY HUSBAND AND I.
Having Casey murdered in Iraq by George Bush's reckless policies has been hard enough on my family, but me setting off on my holy war to bring the troops home, my constant absences, and all of the media attention has put additional stresses on my family.
I chose my path after Casey died. The rest of the family has chosen theirs. We all still love each other and support each other in anything that we do. We didn't want Casey to join the Army, but once he made that decision, we supported him and even encouraged him through boot camp.
We are a normal American family who have had good times, bad times, and terrible times. We hope the good times will come back. We hope that we will be able to laugh with abandon together like we used to one day. We hope that the troops come home and no other families have to go through what we are going through.
It isn't about politics for us. No one asked Casey what political affiliation he was before they sent him off to die in Iraq and no one asked us who we voted for in 2000 before we were handed a folded flag from Casey's flag-draped coffin.
I am not perfect and I never even claimed to be perfect. My family isn't perfect, but we are pretty special...especially the children. We all miss Casey so much and it is George Bush and his neocon cabal who is at fault. The people who are dragging my family through the mud need to grow up and look at themselves. The Christ said: "He who is without sin, cast the first stone."
If everyone followed Jesus's advice, the world would be a much better place.
I think you hit the right button. As a trained counselor, this would be my take on Cindy. Cindy is SELF-centered to a fault. She has not progressed emotionally beyond the concrete stage of development. The world revolves around Cindy. Cindy controlled everything and everyone around her. She failed to control Casey. That infuriates her. She has to blame everyone but herself or her SELF-constructed world will come crashing down. She doesn't realize that it already has. Pitiful creature.

Yep, she's using their grief to prop herself up too.
Typical leftist, so immature and emotionally unstable that she's letting her kids fend for themselves. They need their parents to help them deal with their brother's death. Her politics are more important than her own children. She displays this then whines about being "slimed".

That is what I meant, summer. HER world. The one she built for herself. She certainly has my empathy for the pain she feels at the loss of her son (I lost a 22 yr old son also), but she needs serious psychological help in order to learn to face reality. Casey made his own choices as an adult person. His death is not her fault as she deeply believes. It is also not President Bush's fault as she wishes it to be.
Not only that, it underscores an important point: HE WAS A GROWN MAN WHO MADE HIS OWN DECISION.
Bingo! That's it Mike. When our children become adults they are free to make their own decisions. Some parents have a problem giving up control. As for life and death, we are all terminal from birth. This world is not a permanent home. (Now I'm preaching- sorry :o)

The only thing left for her to do to get more attention in making her point is suicide. Can't be a half martyr and the MSM would love to jump on that.
I didn't hear her ranting about the MSM investigating Judge Robert's children's adoption. If there ever was a reason for privacy......But now she wants to wah wah over stories about her family of adults? When she herself put many of those stories out there???
First she says, tentatively, that she thinks the war was unnecessary and her son died in it. She gets shouts of encouragement.
Then she says it louder. More shouts of encouragement.
Then she says the President misled us. "Yeah, right on," she hears. All this time, no one calls her out that she is wron-headed and disrespecting her dead son.
Then she yells "The PRESIDENT IS EEEVIL." More shouts of encouragement.
Now she thinks she can say anything against the President, Israel, the USA, anything she wants and if anyone brings her up on it she flies into tears "boo hoo boo hoo, you can't say mean things to me, I am the mother of a dead soldier."
She still thinks she has 100% carte blanche to say whatever she wants without consequences or recourse.
Maybe so...I would say with some level of confidence that the libs dirty tricks macinery has been pounding the pavement looking for this kind of useful idiot. And, they seem to have found one. More could be coming soon.
