Dean's latest Howard Dean, the Democratic National Committee chairman who was the hero of his party's anti-war wing before his gaffe-prone 2004 presidential candidacy crashed and burned in Iowa, still doesn't think the Iraqis are better off with dictator Saddam Hussein out of power and in prison. Appearing on CBS' "Face the Nation" yesterday, the fiery former Vermont governor said, "It looks like today, and this could change, as of today it looks like women will be worse off in Iraq than they were when Saddam Hussein was president of Iraq." Mr. Dean was the guy who said right after Saddam was found hiding in a "spider hole" that his capture by U.S. troops "has not made America safer," a statement ridiculed and condemned by most of his Democratic rivals at the time. In a brief statement yesterday, the Republican National Committee said, "Dean's wild assertion that Iraqi women would be better off living under Saddam Hussein than democracy is not only counterproductive to meaningful debate, it demeans the hard work of American servicemen and women serving in Iraq."

What is it with Dean?
Every time he opens his mouth, if it isn't a scream coming out it's a foot going in
Hey, good enough for Clinton....
Where's Howard's wife anyway?
Dean once again shows his ignorance -- revisionist history on display once again.
Well, those rape rooms kept the women from being mugged...
It's about time for someone to write a book on Howard, this guy is a real wacko.
Drugs are really taking effect on this creep!
Does anybody have the statement from Kerry when he was debating Dean during the primaries where he listed all the reasons for going to war with Iraq and ended up saying anybody that doesn't think the world is safer without Sadam doesn't have the qualifications to be president ?
He needs a drug test.
Where is he getting his information? OMG!
Words escape me. This statement is so totally asinine it goes beyond description.
Howard Dean al Tikriti, Saddam Hussein al Tikriti's second cousin.
"It looks like today, and this could change, as of today it looks like women will be worse off in Iraq than they were when Saddam Hussein was president of Iraq."
Really? Dr. Dean is truly an ignorant anal orifice. A stupid one at that.
The left's fear (or is it hope?) is that Iraq will become a Sharia based country like Saudi Arabia or, more likely, Iran. Sadaam and his boys tortured women, but at least on paper, women had more legal rights than in other Muslim countries, and apparently did sometimes occupy higher social roles in business, science, and even the military. The rationale is that it's all relative, that Sadaam was bad, that what may come will be even worse for women.
Thats the thing about him. Just when you think he can't say something more stupid, he out does himself. Not sure what more proof a voter would need to understand where the Democrats stand on National Security.
How about Felos?
I'll try to get it.
"We can officially lable Dean as pro-rape now. I guess he things the ladies really liked those trips to the rape rooms."
And Dr. Dean will be waiting at the door as the women leave telling them: "We hope you won't need or want an abortion, but should you so choose here's a voucher for a discounted procedure. Have a nice day."
