All we are saying is give peas a chance
All we are saying is give peas a chance

War! - huh- yeah-
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Uh-huh
War! – huh – yeah-
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Say it again y’all
War! – huh – good God
What is it good for?
Absolutely nothing
Listen to me…

All we are saying is give peas a chance
All we are saying is give peas a chance

Yes, how many times must a man look up
Before he can see the sky ?
Yes, how many ears must one man have
Before he can hear people cry ?
Yes, how many deaths will it take till he knows
That too many people have died ?
The answer my friend is blowin' in the wind
The answer is blowin' in the wind.

All we are saying is give peas a chance
All we are saying is give peas a chance

Where have all the young men gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the young men gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the young men gone?
Gone for soldiers every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time passing
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Long time ago
Where have all the soldiers gone?
Gone to graveyards every one
When will they ever learn?
When will they ever learn?

All we are saying is give peas a chance
All we are saying is give peas a chance

Perhaps I'm better off on this side of the 'net...

Okay, I'm getting the "5,080 of 5,079" thing, here.

Lag is with us.

Isn't he one of the lesser Norse gods, or something? Or am I confusing them with a character from the comic strip B.C.?

"this side of the 'net"?

Does this lead back into that topography discussion, again? I remember coffee mug = donut.

Actually, I think we're all on the same "side" of the 'net -- the OUTside, where the users dwell.

Hey, now. I said "volcanological", not "volcanic."

Moot point, anyhow. My wife has reserved seating for all performances through 2099. But, I suppose you could buy now for the 2100 season. I promise I'll do my very best 'Yoda' for you.

Good evening all.
I have the net until 8pm, when my children will take it over again, so if I catch up on the thread I'll still be reading at 8. Therefore, I have decided to not to catch up, but just to sit my butt down on the couch to say hi.
How's everyone?

Hi, fanfan! When you wrote that I was still on my home from work, with a stop to say hi to the goodwife who is an "elections inspector" today -- which means she's in charge of the polling place. Ten or so precincts, setting up the machines et al, and in 20 minutes shutting down, making sure the books and ballots are all in good order and accounted for (no crooked Seattle we-make-Chicago-look-like-pikers election shenanigans are going to take place on her watch!).

How're you? Things cooled off any?

Lag is with us.

Yup. We're running way over budget this month. 5-6k was to be end-of-month peak. Looks like we're headed to 9k or so this month. But never fear, the scouts are out for the next UT home.

Seems reasonable, I always thought that whatever goes on inside the net is a dark mystery to me.

I used to think that what went on inside the fishnet was a dark mystery. Then I met my wife and got the chance to find out. [Hoooowwwwwllllll!!!]

I bet ol' Groucho beat me to that one, too.

I still remember the Groucho answering machine recording: "I'm getting ready for a night at the opera, so I can't come to the 'phone right now; or even wrong now, for that matter. Say, aren't you the one who got my son in trouble? What would it take for you to do the same for me?"

sorry I missed you, fanfan.

all,

walp... I decided to do the final lamination step like the Japanese do/did it: binding with high-test string and then hammering wedges in to force the curve (aside from clamping the belly to the riser - too many curves in a tight spot to use wedges)

I have done the top arm of the stave.

that took about 20 minutes of frantic work.
that's pushing things right to the [expletive]ing edge of Gorilla Glue's "working time", but it looks like I have a nice tight joint and a good curve.

my fingers have string-tears in them, and I have spots of glue all over my hands that only time or abrasives will remove.

gah.

I'm taking a breather before doing the lower arm.

howz tricks?

well...?

don't make me hold my breath for too long.

oh - just scared the pants off of one of the local hard-luck beggar 'barbs... dipwad comes to my door at 1040pm looking for a handout... got a shotgun poked at his belly.

looking for money, supposedly for gas.
I gave him the 2 gallons I had for my lawnmower, told him to go in peace, and told him to think real hard before asking me for another freebie and never, EVER, come to my door at that hour again.

care to place bets on whether he'll take the [expletive]ing hint... or act like a stray dog you've fed once?

time to do the lower arm... back in 20minutes plus a clean-up.
