The Heart of Texas Chapter of FreeRepublic.com is holding a rally in Crawford, Texas today to show America's support for our troops, President Bush and the war on terrorists in Iraq, Afghanistan and elsewhere around the world.
The rally will be held at noon at the Crawford Civic Center at 1000 4th Street.
Freepers are coming from near and far to join the H.O.T. Chapter in Crawford. If you live within four hours drive of Crawford, it's not too late to hit the road and get on down there.
Folks in attendance will be calling in to me, Brad's Gramma and Jeff Head with live updates from the scene. I am told that cellphone coverage in Crawford is spotty. However, it may have gotten better of late.
We'll see.
Hat's off to Basil, Doctor Raoul, The Sarce and 2ndAmendmentMama (and anyone else) who've been scrambling the past two days to make this happen. Good luck!
Thanks for that correction my friend...a little fog of war...but thank you for having her there, and thank her from all of us for being there. She made a great impression just being there and holding those signs in support of our troops.
It's up to us to get the truth out. Either the truth or shame them to the point where their message is totally diluted. This reminds me of the days of the hippie protests of the Vietnam war.... Where those little pinkos painted all our servicemen with the same angry brush and turned too many against them when they returned.
This really scares me. If FR, et al, can't stop them this time, we'll all be in serious trouble.

Well, I know some us were toting our legally owned firearms, which we also have licenses to carry. Licenses which required background checks to determine that we weren't felons or mentally deficient. Wonder how many of them could pass such a scrutiny?
But we were in the "tear gas free zone" and no one was shot, threatened, or even saw a firearm except those on the hips of the police. Not even when they drove past our site with their signs. We were sort of out of the way, I'm sure most didn't even know we were there. But if they watch Fox and CNN later, they will.
How great can it get!!!

An earlier poster (waaay back!) said that CNN was showing the counter protests at 20 min after the hour. I (bravely!) went to Headline news and watched it until 10 min before the hour before I finally saw their coverage. I will give them credit, they showed a lot of counter protesters and made it clear that lots of our folks had shown up. While I was waiting, however, I had to endure a segment on the massive support Fidel has in Cuba during his birthday celebration. They showed demonstrations in the streets where Cubans are yelling at known dissidents and shouting support for Fidel. Amazing.
