Like the song says: "The girls all look prettier at closing time."

It's amazing what a stay in jail does for some guys' taste in women...

I've been wondering if it's still legal to smoke in prison.

Maybe. They certainly deserve each other.

Im not an expert on the subject, so anyone please correct me if any of this is inaccurate.

I believe that a prisoner wanted for a crime in another state has the right to conest the extradition, although it just a legal formality and they will be extradited anyway.

Brunner refused them bail.

YA THINK? With half-a-dozen escapes in his record, some of them violent? The guy is a freakin' Houdini.

Death sentence is surely appropriate. One murder is plenty to get someone out of commission and on to Other Things.

"How can an escaped convict fight extradition back to his place of incarceration?"

Well, in fairness, the guy wasn't even gonna fight it until he heard his wife was fighting it. I suppose he can fight extradition on the new charges, but he would still be returned to serve his sentence.

These mopes are just wasting a lot of people's time and effort here, but what do they care, that's all they have now, is time.

"when Common Pleas Court Judge Jennifer Brunner told her on Friday she could get the death penalty if convicted in Tennessee, she slumped back in her chair"

Shows how deluded she is like SINdy Sheehan. The little freak shot and killed a guard and "she's" bummed out?!! Morons. They both deserve two years of seven day, eight hour lecturing from Ira Einhorn and Tammy Faye Baker then death by lethal injection.

Ruth Snyder, isn't it? She and her lover Judd Gray killed her husband. With a sash weight.

It was her "first offense" too.

NYDN reporter had a spy camera down his pants leg.

This is just another reason for me to believe that women should not be allowed to work at a male prison. When I worked as a corrections office I can barely count the number of women working in the system that were having sex with inmates.

Reckon she will cook up an insanity defense?

Since she was dying her hair, switching cars etc., don't see how that would work.

The problem with your view (voiced by others here) is that it is too simplistic. The world is not black and white.

How do you know she killed Morgan? Because the "trustworthy" newsmedia told you so? Now I admit the evidence is overwhelming what with eyewitnesses and her admission. Does it really offend justice that we have a formal trial rather than rely on news reports before we punish someone?

Due process is the very essence of the American way, of a free republic. I believe in it. Contrary to the assertions made by the emoters rather than the thinkers, convicted criminals are generally punished in this country albeit imperfectly. Some wrongdoers are punished too much; some are punished wrongly, some are not punished enough; and unfortunately some are not at all. To say that a human based system is capable of error is hardly breaking news.

Still we have fundamental laws in this country by way of the United States Constitution. The best system of criminal justice is one that gives the accused every benefit (in particular the presumption of innocence until PROVEN guilty in a court (not on Greta, or Hardball, or the New York Times, or even Court TV). Once someone has been truly proven guilty then punish them accordingly. Too many persons want to rush to judgment or deny an accused (not yet a convicted criminal) access to evidence, to advice of counsel, and to other aspects of a fair trial. Why?

I think more judges (and quite frankly most criminal court judges are not liberal or even lenient) would give harder sentences if they knew that the guilty determination stage was not so flawed.

In this case, I would bet that the couple will be found guilty and will receive the death penalty. The Hyattes are not going anywhere and will die in prison. They will see each other most likely at the trial and never again.

For example, scouse asks how can an escaped criminal fight extradition. Well he can contest that he is not the person they are seeking (he will lose quickly on this) but that is a procedural safeguard to protect the innocent not the guilty. He could argue that the government seeking extradition engages in unconstitutional treatment both in terms of its trial phase and its treatment of guilty. Would you let your son just be extradited to Iran just because the Iranians say he violated Islamic law? Who decides in our society? The Courts.

they killed a cop for what...1 and a half's day of Freedom....bastards

That is what I do not understand. A simple jail break, you might get away with it.

You kill a cop and they well never ever stop coming after you. I don't understand the reasoning here.

"barely count"

Does this mean the count was so high you ran out of fingers and toes? Or that there weren't that many?

Get over yourself. She killed a prison guard so she in turn must forfeit her life. Try her and fry her.
