CRAWFORD RALLY TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS LOCATION UPDATE

The Crawford Police have just notified me that our location for the Support the Troops rally has been changed.

Please congregate at the Crawford Civic Center, which is located in the 1000 block of East 4th Street.

Start time remains 12 Noon.

The new site is very near the first site we were assigned, so people going there by mistake should be able to see us and come on over.

Sorry about the last minute changes.

Today, Bush is attending an annual Republican fundraiser at a nearby ranch and plans to attend a playoff Little League baseball game in Waco Saturday night.

Looks like a baseball game is on the docket for Sat. Night.... Might get interesting if word gets out...

"Her son died defending the American people from terrorism, and he should be honored, not degraded and shamed as Mrs. Sheehan is doing. "

I agree, and the fact that he re-enlisted says a lot too!!
It's not like they twisted his arm or he was forced to go and if he was so against the war, as she claims, why did he re enlist knowing he would return?

Gee, the reports at the DUmp are a little different. They claim that while Cindy's supporters were singing "God Bless America", the other side was screaming..We don't care...We don't care! You don't suppose the DUmp would lie??

ATTENTION All FReepers who can't make the Crawford Rally tomorrow but want to help!

The HOT Chapter needs a reliable volunteer to post a Live Thread a little before Noon Central time (that's 1:00pm Eastern and 10am Pacific) and to whom we can call in updates from the scene for your posting enjoyment! (Do NOT post your numbers on the thread, please FReepmail me or basil.)

One caveat for all expecting a live thread: in our previous trips to Crawford, cell phone coverage has been extremely spotty (my own cell doesn't work up there at all, others have had better luck but it's unpredictable), so it may be difficult for us to phone out reports in real-time, but we WILL try.

Who are the Live Thread veterans who can help us coordinate this?

Another request from the HOT Chapter for the Crawford rally (actually, it's a request from Doctor Raoul, who is now officially on the ground in Texas!):

Can anyone who is planning to attend bring a nice, heavy music stand for our speakers to rest their papers? We don't have a podium/lectern, and one of those nice, solid, black Manhassett-style stands like you used in high school band would be just perfect! Needs to be sturdy, not the little fold up wire type.

Please reply to this thread if you can definitely bring one. Thanks in advance!

BTW, everything is coming together nicely, and we are all excited about tomorrow. Looking forward to meeting all the FReepers coming in from all points of the compass!

Texas is just a bit too far for me to drive. Hoist a sign and a cold one after the rally for me.

We've got LOTS of flags! Thanks for your good wishes! Do you have any suggestions to who we could ping to post 185 above for a Live Thread volunteer tomorrow? I am blank on who the regulars are for that sort of thing, and don't have time to research it, I'm running around here doing last-minute details.

I just knew Texans wouldn't let this women get the best of them, in their own state, with their own native son!

Thanks!

I talked with Basil a little while ago. I'll start the thread in the a.m. and will be able to take updates until about 1 p.m. your time. Hopefully we'll have a fill-in after that while I head over to the D.C. Chapter meeting.

Another request: are there any night-owl FReepers out there who could read through this thread and the previous ones (there's a total of four, they are all still on the Activism Sidebar) and construct a ping list of those who responded that they will or might attend tomorrow? I don't have time but it would be VERY helpful for a couple of last minute pings tonight and early in the morning. Thanks for everyone's support, we in the HOT Chapter are excited about tomorrow!

A ping list is a group of names that you copy into the "to:" line to make a whole bunch of people aware of a particular thread or post.

By the way, FreeRepublic is not a blog...it is an online gathering place for conservatives dedicated to maintaining our constitution and outing thoise who would destroy it, particularly on the left. Jim Robinson owns trhe site, but hundreds of thousands visit it every day to get ther news and to plan activism events (like this rally in Crawford Texas tomorrow).

Kristinn, thanks SO much. Be sure and ping Jeff Head to the live thread, he's given us his number as an alternate contact.

(Check your freepmail in a minute.)
