How is Cindy Sheehans GSFP a 501(C)(3) organization?

Go to their donations page and you will see that it claims 501(c)(3) status. This is reserved for charitable organizations, not political organizations. This should be a PAC or a 501(c)(4) at the very least. Is anyone investigating this? They should not be tax deductible.

I have come to the conclusion that all of these radical groups like the NAACP, ACLU, CAIR, NAMBLA, don't necessarily hate Bush as much as they just hate White, Black, Asian and Hispanic middle class America.

Bush is merely the symbol of their rage against morality.

Her's is a pretty recently-formed group, right?

IIRC there's a provision in the tax law that allows groups to claim a tax-exempt status and take advantage of all its benefits until such time as the controlling authority (IRS) either approves or denies the status.

Sometimes the investigation and approval process can take years (especially if the status is challenged). All the while the organization can claim the tax-exempt status.

Well, how would the IRS feel about someone who doesn't pay their taxes also being on the board of a 501(c)3?

Her goal is not only to not pay taxes, but to take tax money and use it in her political organization by claiming the donations are tax-exempt. That's what filing as a 501(c)(3) will do.

I hope the IRS is looking at this.

I would hope they would be very upset.

And she doesn't just sit on the board, she is essentially the corporation.
