But they're not changing the name of the stadium? The Cotton Bowl? Good Lord, do these people not realize that slaves used to pick cotton? You *had* to go and remind them of that. Next year it will probably be the Polyester Bowl. Oh wait, they use Oil, probably found by Haliburton, to make that stuff. Maybe the the Rayon Bowl? No wait, at least at one time, wood from trees was used to make Rayon?

This is getting completely out of hand. How do you destroy decades of tradition without batting an eye. Is this country truly turning into a nation of feminized, sissy boy, lemmings? (I wanted to use the other word for cats..... but.....) It's a football game!!!! It's supposed to be rough, THATS WHY IT WAS CALLED THE "RED RIVER SHOOTOUT!!!!!!!

A couple of years ago, Nebraska Wesleyan University changed their sports mascot from the "Plainsmen" to the "Coyotes" because, get this, "PlainsMEN Gee, when I was a kid, living not far from NWU, folks used to shoot coyotes from airplanes? Besides they are nasty little beasts. I suppose the new mascot looks something like Wiley Coyote? Yuck.
...
Never mind. I just checked, they are the Prairie Wolves. That I can live with.

What about the Native American Stream Of Water The Red River is called that because of the color of it's water, not the color of the folks who were living there. (and still are on the north side)

And SBC PAID for the privilege to call it that.
That's what's stupid, SBC paying the NCAA to change the name to RRR? Are you kiddin' me? I'd be all over SBC if I cared or was a customer of theirs asking why they spend MY money on something so insipid and asinine.

Isn't a rivalry kind of violent too? And couldn't losing be bad for the self-esteem of the, well, non-winning team? Why play a football game at all? What if we all just got together on the field and sang some nice songs together?

Slaves were used to harvest hemp back in colonial America, so shame on you for even suggesting such an unsensitive title.
It has officially been narrowed down to either the Celebrate Diversity Bowl, or the Karl Marx memorial bowl.
Thanks,
