Gee, when I was a kid, living not far from NWU, folks used to shoot coyotes from airplanes? Besides they are nasty little beasts. I suppose the new mascot looks something like Wiley Coyote? Yuck.

Never mind. I just checked, they are the Prairie Wolves. That I can live with.
Sorry about that, I knew it was some something along those lines. I will fact check a little better next time. The reason for the name change was correct however.
