SUNRISE -- Police seized 2 ounces of marijuana at the home of Anthony Diotaiuto after shooting him 10 times, according to information on the drug raid released Tuesday.
Also Tuesday, while many friends and relatives of the 23-year-old bartender and student mourned him at a Davie funeral home, others appeared at a Sunrise City Commission meeting to demand an explanation for the fatal raid
"Do 2 ounces of marijuana constitute a death warrant?" asked Sunrise resident William de Larm, a friend of Diotaiuto's.

"The Police identified themselves and the perp grabbed a gun"
How you know? Because the thugs who shot him said he did?
Since when does a guy who goes to school, works two jobs, and plans a vacation to visit his grandmother go for a gun over marijuana?
But you're right in the end. Any American today who doesn't realize the today's cops will effect your death over the simplist of violations is a friggin idiot.
You haven't lived under a Democrat-controlled government, I take it. It's real easy for that to be extended to guns, or Christian-related activities. And there's no principle that you stand on here that would or could stop such a small change in the law.
Did he? What do we have to show that? Besides the word of the people who killed him? Is there a videotape?
He's trying to tell you that, having been here under Clinton, those of us with longer FR tenures tend to be more circumspect about police actions than do some of our newer contributors. Do Ruby Ridge or Waco mean anything to you?
Nice strawman there buddy. I merely asserted that if you come to my house after hours and kick in the door, break the window or otherwise, startle me by creating a loud disturbance on my property I am going for my gun.
Sounds like a "logical case" for why no-knock search warrants should be used rarely if ever, and only in the case known high-risk offenders after all other possible considerations have been exhausted.
That's they are supposed to be used. BTW.
I'm convinced that we are as infiltrated as is possible. These fools come on here, pretend to be the most cartoonish of conservatives, the most embarrassing and narrow-minded caricature of conservatives, and they do it to force reasonable people from our ranks. Please remember this, the caricature you are arguing with may well be a liar, simply pretending the role in order to stir the pot. I encourage everyone to consider this when reading our opinions; consider the deceit and the goals of the deceitful ones.
So now the guy goes from suspected petty weed dealer to hostage taker all because of a Concealed Carry Permit. Riiiight.
I'm convinced all the WOD supporters on this board are personally profiting from it.
I really think some of them are leftist plants trying to make us look bad.
While I sorta agree and definately appreciate where you are coming from I think that not all of them do. There are many people in the real world who have somehow, even tangentally, been negatively affected by someone's pot usage, and that has developed into an emotional issue, and as you and I have argued before, emotions really skew the arguments.
I'm sorry for my inarticulateness, that is exactly what I am trying to say.
You made sense to me...and you're right, a lot of people pretending to be conservatives aren't, including some on FR and most of the GOP.
You mean people should be accountable for their actions?
Now that's a radical idea! :)

In this case, the newcomers have missed out on the critical examination of the idea that just because something involves drugs, or guns, none of the usual rules apply. Ultimately, officers are bound by the law, and the law does not allow the execution of ordinary citizens by the police. Even if he was red-handed guilty of everything charged to him, the police did not act lawfully and should be held to account as the violent criminals that they became.

Shooting him was excessive.
This is no excuse, but I think most PD's are not really that well trained for this. They "act" like studs but are amatures.
