SUNRISE -- Police seized 2 ounces of marijuana at the home of Anthony Diotaiuto after shooting him 10 times, according to information on the drug raid released Tuesday.

Also Tuesday, while many friends and relatives of the 23-year-old bartender and student mourned him at a Davie funeral home, others appeared at a Sunrise City Commission meeting to demand an explanation for the fatal raid

"Do 2 ounces of marijuana constitute a death warrant?" asked Sunrise resident William de Larm, a friend of Diotaiuto's.

So...if you own a gun and do the right thing and register that gun, you are more likely to be murdered by the police?

Well I guess the guy wasn't completely innocent, he had 2 ounces of wacky tabaccy! He had to die!

What's with your bizarre nazi fantasies eh?

You know Godwin's law, but that's the only argument you have. Good job.

Well, it's not a fallacy really. You guys get along on this issue. Just a fact.

Also, I've known too many people wrecked up on pot. Some disasterously so. Everyone that got on it ended up FAR worse off, in many cases dragging their loved with down the drain with them.

Maybe you don't care about that stuff, but that's your liberaltarian nonsense again.

>The Police identified themselves and the perp grabbed a gun.

So thats the story here? Sheesh, its like arguing with little children. Its like saying "Al Capone got sent to jail for a litte tax evasion".

Exactly. Or like saying 'he was shot for having a little pot' when in reality he was shot for drawing a gun on cops.

"2 ounces is a bit much for personal use"

No, it's really not. It is a miniscule amount.

But hey, for 2 ounces the penalty is death? I guess you are far more conservative than I.

Yes, really, it is. Look it up.

Also, I've known too many people wrecked up on pot. Some disasterously so. Everyone that got on it ended up FAR worse off, in many cases dragging their loved with down the drain with them.

So you support making alcohol illegal from this assertion I see. Well as long as you are consistent in your beliefs I don't have a problem with you believing them, however incorrect they may be.

"Many officers faithfully perform their duties with the highest degree of integrity through out their careers"

Many? Not even "most" or "all that I know". Telling.

No, I draw the limit at alcohol. Why make anymore bad stuff legal?

And if you want more bad stuff legal, why not start with meth or something? They're all life destroying. Alcohol can at least be used moderately without the risks.

when in reality he was shot for drawing a gun on cops.

So says the cops, who are conveniently the only ones available to tell the story.

"You know, I've come across grade school kids with better writing syntax than you. Must be that Maximum IQ requirement most PD's have been using. Can't have people bright enough to think for themselves on the Force."

Just communicating at your level, I thought it appropriate!

The problem being, if you have no reason to expect a police raid, people yelling "get on the ground" after they kick in your door tend to alter your perceptions of what is the better choice. Hmmm, do nothing and get killed by home intruders, or grab my gun and defend myself? I guess I'll just be a sheep...

He was shot because a trigger happy JBT was fulfilling his Rambo fantasy. No real substitute for actual police work, but it seems to be the way you guys are doing things these days.

Why don't you try going after a real criminal for a change? Or would that cause you to do real work?

Speaking of which, my work day is almost done. You should consider a career change. With this attitude of yours, you ain't gonna last long as a cop.

As I understand it there was no knock and announce. We had that happen out here about 10 years ago and a cop took one in the head over it. Guy walked away scott free. The judge said, a bunch of big guys break in my door, wearing masks and dark clothing and I don't hear "Police, search warrant" I too would go for a gun.

Why don't you read the news about what happened in Baton Rouge yesterday. Those officers knocked on the door and it got one of them killed by a piece of Cr#p ".

What, over another 2 ounces of dope? I don't think anyone here has a problem with police officers defending themselves. Nor does anyone have trouble with the cavalry charging in when the situation calls for it. When you start SWAT rolling, though, for a crime that a substantial portion of the population--and apparently this list--has partaken of it doesn't take long before a slippery slope appears. How 'bout if in the future we nab the potheads on their way to work and save SWAT for more appropriate occasions?

And I see a lot of wanna-be cop killers on here giving gun owners a really bad name.

Shameful.

You also see some of the most obnoxious brownshirts here, like you.

What the hell are you talking about koolaide. I am by no means a liberal and kicking down doors for an MJ bust is BS and you know it. But I guess propegation of the order is called for from your point of view. What would you do if you faced a real desperado?
