FAMILY OF FALLEN SOLDIER PLEADS: PLEASE STOP, CINDY! Thu Aug 11 2005 12:56:21 ET
The family of American soldier Casey Sheehan, who was killed in Iraq on April 4, 2004, has broken its silence and spoken out against his mother Cindy Sheehan's anti-war vigil against George Bush held outside the president's Crawford, Texas ranch.
The following email was received by the DRUDGE REPORT from Casey's aunt and godmother:
Our family has been so distressed by the recent activities of Cindy we are breaking our silence and we have collectively written a statement for release. Feel free to distribute it as you wish. Thanks Ð Cherie
In response to questions regarding the Cindy Sheehan/Crawford Texas issue: Sheehan Family Statement:
The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.
Sincerely,
Casey Sheehan's grandparents, aunts, uncles and numerous cousins.
Developing..
I've heard nothing at all from her husband. Are they estranged?
Sorry, but she used up all my sympathy some time ago. Others have lost loved ones, including sons, in all sorts of way, including wars and the attack on the WTC on 9/11/01. Grieving widows and parents did not join forces with the enemy in most of these cases as a form of grief management. Those who did probably would have dones so even if their loved ones had lived. This woman lacks integrity and character, and now everyone knows it.
I have seen nothing in the media although I have heard from this site that they are stranged.
Basil, good luck, wish I could be there. Freepers on Saturday, watch your backs.
Meant to put you on post 204 Howlin
Glad I don't have to tell my priest I talked like that.
I don't know if Cindy said that, but the woman O'Reilly had on last night (I stooped to watch his interview...) said that is what she told the Secret Service when asking that she get her OWN time with the president because she didn't want to be with her ex-husband and his new wife.
Bush granted her request and saw her individually in her little booth.
I read that about Michelle. The self declared party of tolerance....
He left her. Wonder why.
In my house she is considered a traitor
What a nimrod to use his companies' email.
THat is a valid question. And the media has been asking the president that question ever since we got there. And he has given HIS answer many times.
When she was asked in a phone podcast what she would ask if she saw the president, the 1st question was "why", but she said she already knew his answer and didn't believe it. Her second question was a smarmy "did you encourage YOUR kids to enlist", suggesting it would let the soldiers being held hostage in Iraq come home (yes she said they were hostages, held by the stop-loss orders).
Her third "question" wasn't a question, it was an order to him to stop comforting others by telling them there was a mission. She said the only thing that would honor her son would be if we surrendered in Iraq and came home.
Yea, that's what your Son went to die for, so we could surrender to the terrorists.
May God bless and comfort them. How awful that they have to go through this...
Well, at this point I sure can't blame him.
LOL, that is going to look good on the old resume.
Makes me glad that the local ClearChannel station (WISN, home of Mark Belling) switched from ABS to Fox for their news.
And a relative on a talk show in CA said that her son joined the military to get AWAY from her.
Somebody must've let the trolls out of the asylum today. Tis good that the Mods and JimRob are on top of the situation.
Yes, if you want it to get uglier, you're probably alone. Ugliness is every good. The best possible outcome at this point would be for Cindy Sheehan to shut up and go home. At the end of the day, this woman has still lost a child, and that's more painful than any of us who still have our children can comprehend.
That kind of confirms my theory that she can't blame her behavior on grief.
