The email is from Cherie Quarterolo, who is speaking for the family and is Casey Sheehan's godmother. The email, with the statement contained, follows:

In response to questions regarding the Cindy Sheehan/Crawford Texas issue:
Sheehan Family Statement:
The Sheehan Family lost our beloved Casey in the Iraq War and we have been silently, respectfully grieving. We do not agree with the political motivations and publicity tactics of Cindy Sheehan. She now appears to be promoting her own personal agenda and notoriety at the the expense of her son's good name and reputation. The rest of the Sheehan Family supports the troops, our country, and our President, silently, with prayer and respect.

The news media should be laughed at. They are sophisticated enough to know that there's something irrational about someone demanding a personal audience with the President. Before they closed Pennsylvania Avenue in front of the White House, people would camp out there for months, demanding to see the President. None of them received any news coverage, and for good reason. They had mental problems.
I have seen on other posts that you posted that Cindy had gotten a message from Melody Townsel.
Where did you see that..and what did the message say?

I just finished reading what Cindy wrote in the "diary" on Monday...
She is so full of herself---she acts like SHE is gonna bring this war to a halt (peaceful of course), all by herself!!!
BTW, Fox showed a presser that Bush had---and he sort of referred to her...and stated that he cares very deeply about the troops that are injured and killed, and he KNOWS how much the families hurt, because he visits with them, and he hurts with them as well...
Of course the reporters wanted to get him to speak about Sheehan personally, but Bush wasn't going to!

CAMP CASEY -Basically, this morning started off like they have four days in a row - with a local resident around 6 a.m. driving his car to work from end of the camp to the other, honking his horn all the way down. They just did it again at 1 p.m. EDT. -- First story, hit on Tom DeLay (friend/supporter accused of fraud). Second story -- Cindy Sheehan and President's oblique reference to the matter in remarks to the press. Third story -- about possible loss of veterans benefits (implication Bush admin doesn't care).

And again at 2 p.m. MDT, this time they featured another mom in Crawford who said that her son died after Bush knew there were no WMD's in Iraq.
I just hope there is a backlash about this.

and in one of the shots, you could see the bouquets of flowers that have been sent to her.
