"Flip-flopping"Americans-Right-wing bloggers are attacking military mom Cindy Sheehan (FR mentioned)

Aug. 9, 2005 | Cindy Sheehan, the angry 48-year-old mom from Vacaville, Calif., whose son died while serving in the Army in Iraq and who has been staging a lonely bring-the-troops-home vigil outside President Bush's ranch beneath the baking Texas sun, has clearly become a thorn in the president's vacationing side. Putting a public and empathetic face on the war's toll in America, Sheehan, whose son, Casey, was killed in April 2004, has posed a very simple request to Bush: Come out and talk to me about Iraq and why my son died. .........

Taking peculiar pleasure in trying to discredit the small-town mother, right-wingers have been in a tizzy over what they perceive as a flip-flop by Sheehan on Iraq. They excitedly reassure themselves that her alleged inconsistency about the war ought to disqualify her from being a legitimate war critic. Problem is, the oddly playful bloggers, busy mocking Sheehan as a "crazy," "exploited," "left-wing moonbat," aren't really staring down a lone mother who may or may not have shifted her opinion about Bush and the war since 2004.

.......Over the weekend conservatives at the Free Republic unearthed a June 25, 2004, article from Sheehan's hometown newspaper, the Reporter, which detailed Sheehan's visit with Bush at Fort Lewis near Seattle earlier that month. Portions of the article suggested Sheehan was grateful for her time with Bush, in contrast with her current complaints about him. Freepers then passed along the clip to Matt Drudge, who talked about it on his Sunday-night syndicated radio show. On Monday morning he hyped his analysis on his Web site, concluding that Sheehan "has dramatically changed her account about what happened when she met the commander-in-chief last summer!"

She is the best propaganda the Islamocrats have. Any new recruit might want to consider a question before joining the military, "How would my parents/wife react if I'm killed in action?", because this lady inspires the terrorists to kill more of our servicemen.

I think the terrorists had an idea of what to expect from Nick Berg's parents when they decided to kill him.

The kind of thoughts that pass through a lefty's mind:

"Gee, I accepted the job as an engineer and now they expect me to do engineering-related work? How dare they!"

Chrissy Matthews has been strangely sort-of absent from Hairball lately...

He will be on one night, then gone for 2-3 nights, then back for one night...????

This has been going on for about 3 weeks...don't know what the problem is...but he has ole David "gag me" Gregory on as a sub....blech

NOT that Chrissy is GOOD...but I love to see him get so upset he spits all over his guests!

It's ruined her entire life, and now, forever more, she'll be remembered as a nutcase. She won't be remembered for raising a fine man who served his country. Pity.

"And I have the whole month of August off, just like him. It’s just the way it worked out, I was supposed to go to England tomorrow to do some Downing Street things, but Conyers cancelled, so hey, I have a lot of free time on my hands, and I’m gonna stay until he comes out and talks to me. And if he quits his vacation and goes to D.C., I’ll pull my tent up, I’ll go to D.C., and put it on the White House lawn, and I’ll be waiting for you guys when you get there September 24th."

It's clearly her fulltime job. And it has been for a long time now.

LOL

It seems as I get older (I'm in my 30's)
the more conservative I become. I think its due to the ignorance of their ideology...I can't wrap my head around it.

If there are any liberal lurkers out there feel free to freepmail me on how any God fearing/tax paying/American blooded person can subscribe to this thinking!!

USEFUL IDIOT!!!!!!
She can't get a grip on the fact that she wasn't allowed to make her son's decisions for him.
He cut the apron strings and made his own decisions. He volunteered to enlist, and then he volunteered to reenlist knowing he was going to Iraq.
She now wants to go back and disrespect everything her son VOLUNTEERED to do, and the life he volunteered to live.
Why doesn't she voluntarily shut her mouth and honor his life and memories?

IOW the leftist looney crowd got to this mother and spun her around. This is no different than the Brady campaign that sends a team down for every tradgedy to confuse and recurit the parents of kids who do something stupid.

This whole story is an idictment of the old media because they HAD TO HAVE KNOWN and INTENTIONALLY OMITTED as if nobody would notice.

She is a fake or just a sucker of the first degree.

Gosh, her remarks about how "if your government lies to you, then you don't have to follow the laws"...

sounds like she is advocating ANARCHY, doesn't it...

hmmmm...so I guess if she got put in jail for this protest, it would be okay, because according to her, all laws are off the books...so I assume that also means constitutional rights...

I refuse to sign on to Salon, even for a "free, one-day membership." This "journalist" is one step worse than the New York Times editorial writer yesterday. The Times was too computer illiterate to punch a few buttons and find out the story was debunked the day before, all over the Net.

This fool is so hard-wired in his bias that he noticed the debunking, yet somehow sought to twist that into something wrong with the truth-tellers, but nothing wrong with the (lying) Cindy Sheehan. This woman, as judged by her OWN words which were posted on her OWN website until Monday, has changed sides. She has abandoned her husband and her other children in order to take to the road and trash the memory of her son, Casey, who twice volunteered to defend his country's interests in Iraq.

She is a pathetic loser. This "journalist" is a pathetic loser. Salon is a group of pathetic losers. So is the NY Times. Click below for more accurate information. Did I miss anything?

Good afternoon.
"We'll see how she holds up to Bill."

O'Reilly is more likely to give her a pass and say something nasty about the FreeRepublic. He is not much of a friend to the military and he has repeatedly expressed his opinion that the war is being lost by the administration.

Dear Eric...
Unlike you, I take charlatans or self-promoting opportunists seriously. This is no longer about her son but all about her. I feel sorry that she lost her son, that is tragic. Being a retired Vet I do take offense whenever somebody exploits fallen Soldiers form their own agenda. That is what she is doing. Get this through you mind full of mush - Cindy Sheehan is out for herself and she will dump you and your Ilk when it no longer suits her purpose. When it happens I will be there to say "See I told you so".

Where is Joseph Wilson these days. You get tired of him already?

O'Reiily is an idiot.
The war isn't being lost...It's just being too meekly conducted. Its time to give them all we got and settle this thing once and for all.
This woman is a moon-bat and she dishonors her son's service...I don't blame her husband for leaving her.

Salon, "Taking peculiar pleasure in trying to discredit the small-town mother, right-wingers have been in a tizzy"

Typical left spin, exaggerate with sound bite words like "tizzy".
Editor sends the real stories back to the writer until the piece appears $alacious enough.
