I just received an email message from a long time friend of Harry Clark. She says he passed away yesterday at his home in Virginia. She also says he will be greatly missed for his quirky sense of humor and quick mind. If you got past his superficial BS shell, he was a wonderful person.
He will be greatly missed.
Thanks for sharing the little that you could.
I know a little tiny bit also and wish I could have been a better friend to him in this year his time of need. I regret that.
Prayers to Harry's family and friends. We are losing so many good FReepers lately.
Harry and I batted back and forth a few times, both public and private. For whatever reason, I sometimes became harsh with him and he always handled it with that endearing "Aw, shucks" way of his.
I can tell you that by the end of every discussion, I always liked him even more.
Warts and all, I call Harry my friend.
I'm really going to miss that guy.
Thank you ! You said it best... He was not a perfect person, none of us are but he was also not pervert of any kind.
He liked to rattle chains for sure but he was honest & caring.
A very bright man with so many many interests one life was not enough to explore them all. He respected "thinkers", that is why he spent so much time in FR. Since you got to know him in email as well as in FR I am sure you know him better than some here. Thank you for sticking up for my friend Harry
Condolence
Amen,.......Infinite Grace and Mercy,.......In Jesus' Precious Name, Amen.
I think that is the one thing that we cannot say. I've gone back and read some of the stuff. I had really never run into the guy. Some of his writings were pretty creepy to me as your average parent. I'll assume he was merely venting rather than speak ill of someone who can't defend himself.
Perhaps one of his associates in his hometown can give us any funeral details such as targeted charities.
Condolences to his family and friends.
Thank you for clarifying that.
I enjoyed reading his posts.
He seemed like a very honest man that had no problem speaking of his own weaknesses.
He came across as a man with a heart of gold.
RIP.
I was shocked and saddened to see that The Other Harry passed away. I read his vanities long before I ever joined FR. I regret not posting a reply to him. I will miss him.
Harry, God bless you and your family, you'll be missed. Surfing FR just wont be the same.
Harry always made me laugh.
The "What do I put in a firstaid kit?" thread was a hoot!
RIP Harry!!
Blessings to your family and friends.
I just started to enjoy the craziness that The Other Harry had to offer (it took me a little while to figure out what was going on).
I'm way bummed.
I hope his passing was peaceful.
Lots of harry's words were taken out of context. In case nobody noticed, none of harry's 'awful' comments were ever removed from the forum.
How sad. RIP.
Rest in Peace Friend.
You will be missed.
Prayers for those felling his loss.
Very sad news. Do you have any more information? There's been nothing in the News Virginian. I've done some searching around and come up with nothing. As one who also corresponded with him, I'd like to know a little more about who he was and how he passed away.
Rest well you whimsical SOB. God Bless Ya'
I think TOH pulled a lot of legs. Yours may have been one of them.
