Malkin Reminds Conservatives: 'We are All Minutemen Now'

Young America’s Foundation Conference

-Illegal immigration is putting our national security at risk, according to nationally syndicated columnist and author Michelle Malkin, who spoke last week at a Young America’s Foundation conference in Washington, D.C.

Malkin said the U.S. was nowhere near where it should be in addressing the issue, especially with regard to the war on terrorism.

“There are upwards of 10 million illegal aliens in the United States,” Malkin said, “400,000 of who have already been ordered deported, but are on the loose in the U.S., after having been released by the federal immigration authorities.”

The Department of Homeland Security has determined that 78,000 illegal aliens are from terror-supporting or terror-friendly countries, and are in this country right now. After having been apprehended and then subsequently released, 94% have never been found again and never deported.

With approximately 2,000 agents available to track them down, the Department of Homeland Security remains at a distinct disadvantage.

“Since 9/11 we have lots of new laws and a lot of new agencies, lots of new acronyms,” said Malkin, “and a lot of new spending to fight off foreign invaders, but our immigration policy continues to leave the doors of our nation open wide.”

“Catch-and-release,” she added, “remains the standard operating procedure for illegal aliens by our federal immigration authorities.”

According to a 2004 Time magazine article, illegal immigration causes substantial harm to American citizens. The costs to the public include: medical care facilities driven out of business by illegal aliens requiring free care; communities across the nation being overrun with crime perpetrated by illegals as well as the heightened risk of terrorism.

To make matters worse, Malkin said, “legislation such as California’s 1994 passage of Proposition 187, which restricts taxpayer funds for such goods as free education and free hospital treatment to illegal aliens is often characterized by the elite media as racist.”

“Political correctness is the hand-maiden to terrorism,” Malkin warned.

Her solutions to the problem include: increased funding for border enforcement, no more amnesties, and to “start enforcing the law, now!”

Title 8, Section 1325 of the U.S. Code, titled Improper Entry by Alien,” states: Any citizen of any country who has entered the U.S. illegally has committed a federal crime. Violations are punishable by fines and imprisonment for up to six months. Repeat offenses can bring up to two years in prison.

“Everyday somebody suffers from illegal immigration,” Malkin said. “We are all minutemen now.”

I just heard an interesting liberal rant on Michael Medveds show. He listed what he calls "Christian terrorists" and named McVeigh, Rudolph, and Fred Phelps.

McVeigh and Ruldolph could be considered terrorists but McVeigh was a leftist in my opinion and Rudolph says he doesn't believe in God. Fred Phelps is an idiot but isn't know to be connected to anything more than another handfull of idiots.

When I'm watching her on TV with my wife, I have to be very careful not to express too much appreciation for her :) She's really very pretty, but she's very sharp and knows her stuff. So I sit there saying, "She's got a point there..." while shifting uncomfortably under my wife's sidelong scrutiny.

Everyday somebody suffers from illegal immigration

Obviously, the Bushes don't. They continue to ignore/covertly support it. But that's the rich for you.

Leftists don't believe in principles. They are results oriented rather than process oriented (e.g., conservatives tend to want equal opportunity while liberals want equal results), thus they are willing to bend the process (and any principles they might claim to have) in order to get the results that they want. If leftists really cared, how could they possibly have looked the other way while their idols like Mao, Stalin, Pol Pot, and Castro piled up dead bodies like cordwood? They just don't care.

Now, they want to join the feds!

Just a personal observation here, which may not be applicable nationwide. But I believe, if given a choice, most would prefer to try, convict and replace them.

Malkin is tough, truthful and way ahead of most at grasping the large overriding thought.

She's worth bookmarking for her terrific insights.
Let's keep her just where she is...leading us with edgy,hard-nosed wisdom.

Our President is not remiss. He's staging a block buster and we are all going to have to "Keep the Faith".

Like it or not: He's the one we brung to this Dance.

Malkin once again proves that she is just playing to her fringe worshipers. Any real lover of freedom would run from this woman after she said we should suspend the Constitution when it comes to Muslims and put them all in camps for the rest of their lives. Rounding up American citizens and locking them away for life without a trial simply because they belong to a group Malkin doesn't like says that she holds some very dangerous ideas. Anyone who wants to p*ss on and burn the Constitution like that falls into the kook category.

Besides, most Americans do not care one way or the other about a small group of people running around the desert playing Army.

There is something about really astute, intelligent women that just makes me melt inside.
"Thrill me with your acumen."

I was going out with a doctor not too long ago.
Quite pretty, but talking to a woman who could hold her own any time of the day with me...Just damn.

Quite a difference from most women that I know who can't chew gum and walk at the same time. 8^)

I often wonder why I didn't marry her.

My wife wouldn't know Michelle from Eve, but she did vote Republican, so I put her on my "about" page. ;^)
