War Protester Cindy Sheehan Says She Won't Pay 2004 Taxes, Dares Government to Go After Her
Monday, August 8, 2005 | Kristinn

Cindy Sheehan, who is protesting the Iraq war by staging a vigil in Crawford, Texas demanding to have a meeting with President Bush to have him explain why her son, Army Spc. Casey Sheehan, was killed in the war last year is reported to have made recent pronouncements that she is refusing to pay her taxes because of her son's death in the war.

In a Providence Journal article about an appearance by Sheehan at a Rhode Island church published July 27, 2005, reporter Elizabeth Gudrais wrote:

For one thing, Sheehan said, she has stopped paying her taxes. "I didn't pay my taxes for 2004," she said. When a letter arrives declaring her payment delinquent, she said, "I'll say no -- I don't owe you a penny. We'll see what they do to me."

Last Friday, Sheehan gave a speech in Dallas, Texas at the Veterans for Peace conference. According to a published transcript, Sheehan said the following:

Another thing that I’m doing is - - my son was killed in 2004, so I’m not paying my taxes for 2004. If I get a letter from the IRS, I’m gonna say, you know what, this war is illegal; this is why this war is illegal. This war is immoral; this is why this war is immoral. You killed my son for this. I don’t owe you anything. And if I live to be a million, I won’t owe you a penny.

And I want them to come after me, because unlike what you’ve been doing with the war resistance, I want to put this frickin’ war on trial. And I want to say, “You give me my son, and I’ll pay your taxes.”

Also in the VFP speech, Sheehan is quoted as describing her state of mind as being quite dangerous:

So anyway that filth-spewer and warmonger, George Bush was speaking after the tragedy of the marines in Ohio, he said a couple things that outraged me. Seriously outraged me. And I know I don’t look like I’m outraged, I’m always so calm and everything, that’s because if I started hitting something, I wouldn’t stop ‘til it was dead. So I can’t even start, cause I know how dangerous that would be, but George Bush was talking, and he never mentioned the terrible incident of those marines, but he did say, that the families of the ones who have been killed can rest assured that their loved ones died for a noble cause.

Since beginning her roadside vigil about five miles from the President's ranch on Saturday, Sheehan has claimed she has been threatened by the Secret Service with being run over by speeding cars, and with being threatened with arrest by state officials for being a national security threat.

Sheehan has met once with President Bush, in June of last year at Ft. Lewis, Wash. She has given conflicting accounts of that meeting.

Last Saturday, two high level officials with the Bush administration met with her at her roadside vigil to hear her grievances.

Sheehan was not satisfied and has promised to stay in Crawford until she meets with the President. She says she'll follow him back to Washington, D.C. if he completes his August vacation without meeting her.

Other people have mentioned this, but a counter-protest against Miz Cindy and the 50 or so useful idiots with her by military moms and dads who strongly support the war might help her snap back into reality somewhat. I'm so sick of her "I want the troops home" quotes. Gee Cindy, a lot of us want to finish the job, and maybe even see the dictatorships in Syria and Iran taken down at some point. You "want" - well, who died and made you queen? Other Americans disagree with you, and they "want" certain policies pursued too.

Ok Cindy Sheehan. You want to know why your son died in Iraq? Do this for me:

Ask Todd Beaman's wife, ask anyone who lost loved ones that worked at Cantor Fitzgerald, ask anyone that lost a Fireman, Policeman, etc, ask anyone who lost a loved one on 9/11 period. Cindy ask them if they think it is fair that you want a shot at my Pres.

Guess what genious, they have as much, if not more of a right to get in line in front of you since they lost their loved ones first just because they went to work on that Tuesday morning.

As far as you not paying your taxes--- sorry I was laughing so hard I almost broke my keyboard. Get in line behind the welfare people, they invented the practice.
GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS

My sentiments also.

This woman has a screw loose somewhere in her head.

She's bought the anti anything program hook line and Code Pinko Stinker.

Sheehan and her husband, Patrick, are old pros at not paying their taxes. They are using their son's death to justify a pre existing affliction to welch on their responsibilities.

This is truly sad. I can't begin to imagine her grief, but it is sickening the way the left is using this woman in this way. She needs professional help, not a tent in Crawford.

This is a perfect time for the media to play this up since we are in the August Recess and not much else is happening.

I'm sure that at any given time there are plenty of nuts out there protesting the war and the environment and dozens of other issues.

This lady is going from talk show to talk show and is front page in every newspaper.

What we are seeing is the awesome power of the media to control the topic of conversation in America.

has anyone considered lending her a revolver so that she could
end this liberal psychosis once and for all.
at least, she can see her son again in the after life.

but...she is in a left wing anti war agenda to embarrass the
president.
I wonder how many letters of positive sayings about the war her son wrote to her but she has kept them hidden from the
public. hey, after all, she doesn't want her silly ass slinging in the air from such letters.

Before she pulled the trigger, she would write a note blaming a computer chip implanted by GW Bush in her brain that made her do it. Just another example of her martyr narcissism.

The left is using this woman the same way the New York Times tried unsuccessfully to use Judge Roberts children.

The lefty groups are certainly using her....but she's using them, also.

She has a history of using many whacko anti-American, anti-war groups as vehicles for her activism for several decades.

The woman is seriously deranged.....her family should take her in tow before she hurts herself or others.

I believe the death of her son pushed her previously unstable persona over the edge. The MSM is participating in her ultimate crack-up in a big way, also. In fact, everyone and every entity I've mentioned here is whacked out.

They're coming to take me away, ha-haaaa, hee-heeee!

Wow. That's a pretty big find right there.

Blogs need to highlight this tomorrow when the mainstream media runs around touting Sheehan as a tax martyr or something.

I'm sorry but she's getting to sound like a self centered ***** who is flailing around like she's the only mother who lost a son/daughter/loved one in this war.

It's getting old, and she needs to stop dishonoring her son's memory.
