Aruba search continues Aug. 8: Several leads have turned up nothing in the search for missing teenager Natalee Holloway, reports NBC’s Kosinski.
Mother of missing Alabama girl criticizes Aruban authorities’ ‘ineptness’

ORANJESTAD, Aruba - The mother of an Alabama honors student missing in this Caribbean island for over two months said Monday the investigation into the teen’s disappearance has been marred by ineptitude and more than doubled the reward for help in solving the case to $250,000.
Natalee Holloway’s mother, renewing criticism of authorities on the Dutch Caribbean island, said police had given her copies of statements from witnesses and other documents from the investigation that have led her to believe investigators are on the wrong track.
She declined to give details on the documents or say how she thinks authorities should be handling the case.
The family is also offering a $1 million reward for information leading to the 18-year-old’s safe return. The other reward was raised from $100,000, and Holloway Twitty wanted to publicize the rewards in neighboring Venezuela and Colombia, even though Aruban authorities and the FBI said they don’t believe the teen left the Dutch Caribbean island.
The family has said the reward is a mix of their own money and donations, but they have declined to give a breakdown.
“I hope more money will help bring people forward,” she said in an interview with The Associated Press. “I still don’t feel like this investigation is heading in the right direction.”
Chief Prosecutor Karin Janssen called the criticism unwarranted.
“I’m positive about our progress and very proud of my team,” said Janssen.
Not a trace
Extensive searches by Dutch marines, Aruban police and thousands of volunteers have found no trace of Natalee, who vanished on May 30 during a graduation trip with 124 classmates on the island.
No one has been charged in the disappearance. Seven men were arrested, but all except 18-year-old Joran van der Sloot have been released.
Through his lawyers and family, van der Sloot has acknowledged being on a beach alone with the young woman the day she disappeared but says he left her there unharmed.
I hope it was a bullet with his name on it.....

I mentioned that in the last thread but was criticized for it. They do exist but, are rare and I dont think that was the intention here. WAY too much heat.

The FBI knew. They interviewed Beth following the confrontation.
No she said that she could not remember. Now she may have been skirting around in order not to answer Dan, but she stated that she did not remember and that she had not had time to think it all through.
However the object appeared to be a CD to me.
And honestly, we were all very well behaved.

Yes, Lorenzo was questioned but released. I can't help but wonder why they questioned him. There have been so many rumors about Lorenzo. Some of which are the following:
He held Natalee as a prisoner in his basement house.
He holds rave parties at his ranch home, which the police have not searched.
Lorenzo has two homes - One for Raves - the other one for him and his mom.
Natalee's clothing has been seen at his home.
Natalee had dinner with him at the HI earlier in the week.
Lorenzo might be PVDS' son.
SM posters think Lorenzo is a partner of Pink Porn Productions.
I don't know if the above are rumors or true. I keep hearing that no one can locate a definate photo of Lorenzo. If the porno rumor is true, that makes me wonder about the rest of the rumors, in light of the porno connection we've read about previously. In no way am I saying that Natalee would knowingly involve herself with porno people. Unfortunately those porno sickos don't wear a sign on their chest to warn innocent victims.
God only knows what evil might be involved in Natalee's disappearance. Oddly enough, yesterday I read a post on SM concerning Venezuela. According to the post, Venezuela has just decided to forbid our DEA people from investigating drugs in their country. If true, why now? Does it also have something to do with Natalee? Sen. Shelby, early on, said this case is not typical. What did he mean? So many questions and so few answers.
