Adolf Hilter was terrorized by a tyrannical father and became a teenage bully who beat his baby sister regularly, according to newly discovered diaries.
"Once again I feel my brother's loose hand across my face," Paula Hitler reportedly wrote in a journal uncovered by American historian Timothy Ryback and German researcher Florian Beierl.
Another memoir, this one purportedly written by Hitler's half-brother Alois and half-sister Angela, recounted a scene where Hitler's mother, Klara, threw herself over her son's body to protect him. "Without a sound she absorbs it," the memoir states.
"This is a picture of a completely dysfunctional family that the public has never seen before," Beierl told The Guardian, a respected British newspaper. "The terror of the Third Reich was cultivated in Hitler's own home."

So you'd argue that the percentage of serial killers that were physically or sexually abused by their parents isn't any higher than the general population as a whole?

I could honestly care less the reasons, it's the result that matters. Such as 6 million Jews and over 20 million Russians dead because of his warped mind. It might be of concern to some liberals, but all that matters to me is that he blew his brains out in a bunker in Berlin.

The majority of horribly abused children aren't serial killers, but essentially all serial killers of which evidence is known (with the possible exception of Dahmer) endured either horrible sexual abuse, physical abuse, a severe head injury, or various combinations of the above, as childen.
Welcome to FR. There are certain patterns that run in the families of tyrants. The DSM-VI is not leftist psycho-babble. Time will tell if this diary is authentic or not. But it does not remove Hitler's own responsibility, as I'm sure you know.

These folks mainly have a problem with faulty wiring. Child abuse causes serial killing about the same as 2 glasses of milk per day. Don't buy it.
What I would more likely buy is that parents of serial killers and other miscreants share genes that predisposes them to this type of behavior.
I suppose they are more likely to use it as an excuse for government control of the family and of children.
Not just that, but it's strictly the fathers fault.

No. Hitler was only a vector. The terror of the third reich was cultivated by 200 years of modernist drivel. Socialism, Communism and fascism and the rejection of western civilisation was the end product. It was Hitler himself who was the product of his own home.
Hitler had low self esteem, there it is right there. I guess that makes up for the millions of people that died as a result of his regime.
If the HOMELIFE of the Hitler family 'created' the evil monster Adolph was, WHY then didn't the OTHER children become evil messianic tyrants? Shouldn't every child in the house have become a ranting murderer?

And further, the definition of an "abusive" home has recently widened to the point of irrelevance. Essentially all the boys I grew up with had been hit with their dad's belt a few times. Did we all come from abusive homes?
Probably not if you matched region, time and socioeconomic status.
Hey if only Adolf had been "raised by a village" like Saint Hillary advocates, he would have grown up to be a respected painter, no doubt a liberal philanthropist, and emigrated to the United States one day where he would have naturally become a sensitive, caring, Democrat.
You know, somebody who could rant with genuine compassion, like Howard Dean.
