I don't think any of us is surprised.
Any bets on how long before it folds?

Ever have a teacher who tried way too hard to be "down" with the kids? Who never knew that he was using out-of-date lingo or patronizing the intelligence of the people he wanted to befriend? Not really, and the ones that I've heard of recently have been arrested for statutory rape.
But then, it's a compelling opening statement and an interesting parallel considering the people behind "CurrentTV".

Any bets on how long before it folds? I don't know. The internet is still running and "Love Story" made a lot of money with the books and movie. Seems that Al Bore's ideas are really good ones. LOL!!

Any bets on how long before it folds?well, Err Amerika was similarly stillborn, and THAT anencephalic motard-fest is still lurching along in search of a grave

Such casual condescension and witless arrogance is all over Current I don't think I could come up with a better single-phrase description of AlGore if I tried.

After a rather pointless story on a "sneaker pimp," or gym-shoe aficionado, host Shauntay Hinton mused, "I wonder, when his shoes get dirty, does he slap them like a real pimp would do to his own employees?"

No. I thought Air America would be off the by the it's first Summer Solstice, over a year ago. But that was based
on the evening power/configuration license of it's local affiliate.
OTOH, the lack of power at night might have helped the situation by not letting people know exactly how bad they are.

My wife watches the dumbest television imaginable, she loves sit coms and other shows that are literally too annoying for me to even listen to while I read. I got her a new teevee and satellite receiver so she can watch her nonsense up stairs.
Last night I put on current teevee for a few moments to see what she thought... She lasted five minutes, and then went back to to "golden girls".
The channel is precious, like a two headed cow, it is a freak of nature. It interests me with a perverted type of fascination as I wonder how long it will live.
At this moment they are filming a graffiti artist, demonstrating the "power" of the individual to deface other peoples property. This nitwit has ropes and ladders, and should be prosecuted based on this video alone.

Any bets on how long before it folds? Warning to the directors of Non-profits: Do not, repeat NOT approve "loans" to Current TV unless you want to spend a lot of time before IRS auditors and answering grand jury subpoenas.

Now why would anyone be surprised that a television venture chaired by the original oak would be stiff, condescending, and peppered with lame patter?

Any bets on how long before it folds? That depends on how much money Algore's pals can skim from tax-funded programs for sick children and senile senior citizens.

-"...like a real pimp would do to his own employees?"-
Pimps don't have employees - when you think you have to be politically correct when speaking of pimps and ho's, that should tell you something.
To: FairOpinion
This is good - it's black hole of stupidity devouring lib funds that might do some real damage elsewhere. Rather like Air America.
