The mind-blowing and clueless Current TV (Al Gore's venture)

Ever have a teacher who tried way too hard to be "down" with the kids? Who never knew that he was using out-of-date lingo or patronizing the intelligence of the people he wanted to befriend?
If you have a masochistic desire to spend hours with that kind of person, you could tune into Current TV, a new cable channel that debuted in 20 million homes nationwide Monday. (In South Florida, Current is available on DirecTV.)
For a channel that is supposed to be aimed squarely at 18- to 34-year-olds and reflect their views and concerns, Current (whose chairman is Al Gore) is remarkably clueless and elitist. And a fair amount of the content could be found elsewhere.
After a rather pointless story on a "sneaker pimp," or gym-shoe aficionado, host Shauntay Hinton mused, "I wonder, when his shoes get dirty, does he slap them like a real pimp would do to his own employees?"
Such casual condescension and witless arrogance is all over Current -- that, not the content, is what blew my mind.

I don't think any of us is surprised.
Any bets on how long before it folds?

But then, it's a compelling opening statement and an interesting parallel considering the people behind "CurrentTV".

Any bets on how long before it folds? I don't know. The internet is still running and "Love Story" made a lot of money with the books and movie. Seems that Al Bore's ideas are really good ones. LOL!!

Any bets on how long before it folds?well, Err Amerika was similarly stillborn, and THAT anencephalic motard-fest is still lurching along in search of a grave

Viewer submissions are solicited on the channel's Web site, and allegedly the content will be driven by what Web surfers decide they want to see,Do I sense a freep opportunity here...?

Feh. Probably not worth the trouble, on second thought - sounds like they're digging their own grave without outside help.

actually, I have a "meme" I'd like to infect the liberal media and establishment with, just because I'm evil. this might be a useful avenue.

but that's all I can reveal in public, on a conservative site. I need it to "appear" on moonbat sites as a rumor.
