This is what is printed on the box of a product I received today. Contents made in USA China Taiwan and Korea. How's that for manufacturing "diversity"?
That reminds me of a packet of honey that I saw at a restaurant. It was packegd by Kraft, but, in small print, the label indicated that the honey could be from the US, Argentina, Brazil, or China.
Did it say "Assembled in Mexico"?.............
In other words, JUNK! LOL
Shhhhh! Its Bush's fault.
Thought this was going to be a story about an automobile.
Did it say "Assembled in Mexico"?.............
I haven't looked the entire box over, maybe 1/4th of it was. Some manufactures do that.
If it's a computer, fine. If it's a toaster oven, you're screwed.
I dunno why...it just seems to work that way.
Barbies are like this as well. Hair from Japan, plastic from Taiwan, assembly in China etc...
What? No Central American countries? We gotta do something about that...ya know, to keep the money in the northern part of the hemisphere.
"Assembled in Mexico for Ungrateful and Greedy Gringos in El Norte".......
So that's why Barbara Boxer and Nancy Pelosi look like the do.........
Its getting harder and harder to find things Made in America. I love the Travel Channel show of the same name, but he covers mostly industrial not real world American home needs, like kitchen sets, couches, clothing. Anybody know of a website that has good info about made in america stuff?
Wonderful!!!! THANKS!!!
What? Honey gathered in US, packaging made in China, both honey and packaging shipped to Taiwan to put the two together, then shipped to Korea to be stamped. What a deal!
Anybody know of a website that has good info about made in america stuff?
It depends on what you need. Rubbermaid, cars, toys, nope. But the fiber arts are alive and well. Woodcrafting abounds as does handthrown pottery. Soaps and toiletries are finding niches....
Do searches. Lots of home crafters and services are out there but expect to pay more. They take their time to produce a craft.
Made in America will not likely be found at strip malls, dept. stores, malls. etc.
Years ago I gave Black & Decker Hell when I read the box one of their tools came in. The tool was made in Malaysia (China wasn't on the horizon then), the transformer in Thailand and the box, it was announced "Proudly made in America".(!!) It was a sad commentary then and still is now.
Our manufacturing infrastructure, and just as important, the skills involved, are both gone. I'm talking tool and die maker level, not buggy whips, so spare me.
