President George W Bush welcomes Colombia's President Alvaro Uribe to his ranch in Texas, they went for a drive, held a private meeting, and then held a joint press conference. After lunch they spent the afternoon discussing regional security and diplomatic issues.
Further background can be found at President Alvaro visits Crawford
Vice President Dick Cheney is leading a delegation to Saudi Arabia to pay respects to King Fahd (no photos or report to be found almost as if there is a media black out on this). This is strange in 2 respects one no photos and that all reports seem to indicate that all other countries sent people the previous day to the Memorial Service.
Yesterday Secretary of State paid her respects to the late Saudi King Fahd by signing the Book of Condolence in the Saudi Arabian embassy in Washington.
New U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton in his Security Council debut, pressed Syria and Iran to do more to stem the flow of terrorists, arms and funding into neighboring Iraq
Enjoy your visit to Sanity Island
LOL...the third pickup picture.....asking the reporters "are ya hot enough yet?"
I missed it--and I'm glad. Don't need those kinds of people here anyhow!
I would suspect they were having a go about having to track out to Texas in this heat and that comment was a barbed one bought about by their irritation.
Hmmm Vacationing with Colombia's President Alvaro Uribe. What a nice vacation..../sarc
Well, to quote Tom Petty, "She's an American girl."
I saw a couple of the Blue Angels today as they did practice runs over Seattle (they will be performing later at a local event). Cool!
Well, I am back. They had several large fig trees that were loaded. We just got a few but it will probably be enough to make us both sick!! I ate one that must not have been ripe enough because it made my tongue real sore! It has been a while since I have had fresh ones. Mys sister makes fig jam and that is very good!
You're right about that! If the president really wanted to give them a summer in hell there's lots of TX places that make Crawford look like paradise. But the worst place in Texas still beats anyplace else ;) and anywhere the White House press corps goes is the Fourth Estate of Hell.
BTW, thanks for posting the excellent pics!
Just don't get it that the Rat don't understand that "W" is president 24/7. He just choses to work at home.....AND why aren't they complaining about congress being on "vacation" for a month?
Tonight's all important AOL poll is "Is Bush's vacation too long?"
I wonder if they'll EVER give this up!
Rehnquist taken to hospital! Wonder if the reason he didn't step down is because he doesn't expect to live until the fall term?
I cant think of any place on earth more gloriously beautiful than Central Texas.
Thats why I live here...
You are giving me air show withdrawal symptoms it seems ages since I last went to.
Or the British Parliament 80 days LOL
Nice pic of Condi and GWB.
In this month's AARP magazine's article on Condi it is mentioned that she once called GWB "my husband" in public. Paging Dr. Freud.
Another outstanding production snugs...Thanks!
My pleasure just wish there were a few more and I wish there had been some doggy ones.
They get it right enough they just choose to pretend they don't I bet they never complained about Clinton and his vacations.
