President George W Bush welcomes Colombia's President Alvaro Uribe to his ranch in Texas, they went for a drive, held a private meeting, and then held a joint press conference. After lunch they spent the afternoon discussing regional security and diplomatic issues.

Vice President Dick Cheney is leading a delegation to Saudi Arabia to pay respects to King Fahd (no photos or report to be found almost as if there is a media black out on this). This is strange in 2 respects one no photos and that all reports seem to indicate that all other countries sent people the previous day to the Memorial Service.

Yesterday Secretary of State paid her respects to the late Saudi King Fahd by signing the Book of Condolence in the Saudi Arabian embassy in Washington.

New U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton in his Security Council debut, pressed Syria and Iran to do more to stem the flow of terrorists, arms and funding into neighboring Iraq

Gary Sinise is such a devoted supporter to the troops

Eric sat and talked with Gary when he was in Germany on medical leave.

He was WONDERFUL, and Eric got his autograph.

This is one guy who loves the troops!

Yes I think you may also be correct about the friends bit because if you look at the photos of the VP he is looking intently at the King like one would with someone you know well. I would imagine over the years the VP has probably got to know him well.

I agree with you there! And I love that he doesn't hide the fact that he is a Republican and try to be something he's not! Besides, he's darn cute! :o)

I'm actually not sure he is a Republican, but quite frankly he is a good American and that's the bottom line for me.

A funny aside: When my husband and I got married a couple of people said, "Your husband reminds us of somebody, oh yeah, Micheal J. Fox." (Insert theme to The Jeffersons here) A couple of years ago, some people said, "Your husband reminds us of somebody, oh yeah, Gary Sinise."

For the record, he looks like himself to me which is pretty doggone good. Smartest guy I know. But I do think it's funny: From snarky GOPer Alex Keaton to man who commands respect Lt. Dan in 17 years. Not too shabby. ; )

Laura is on record as not liking to wear much jewelry. I wonder what the story is behind the necklace. It reminded me of mini-avocados on first glance!
