President George W Bush welcomes Colombia's President Alvaro Uribe to his ranch in Texas, they went for a drive, held a private meeting, and then held a joint press conference. After lunch they spent the afternoon discussing regional security and diplomatic issues.

Vice President Dick Cheney is leading a delegation to Saudi Arabia to pay respects to King Fahd (no photos or report to be found almost as if there is a media black out on this). This is strange in 2 respects one no photos and that all reports seem to indicate that all other countries sent people the previous day to the Memorial Service.
Yesterday Secretary of State paid her respects to the late Saudi King Fahd by signing the Book of Condolence in the Saudi Arabian embassy in Washington.
New U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations John Bolton in his Security Council debut, pressed Syria and Iran to do more to stem the flow of terrorists, arms and funding into neighboring Iraq

According to AP it was the Americans but there have been some official photos now released. It appears reading between the lines that when it was announced they were leaving Wednesday if they did it must have been nearly Thursday so with time difference etc they arrive Thursday in time for official meetings Friday unless some secret ones took place there or elsewhere on Thursday. It almost looks as if half a day went missing strange but maybe some security reason.
By the way there is a video clip on Yahoo of the VP arrival whether this is the actual arrival in Saudi or just the "official" one not sure.

My thoughts, exactly. I was so pleased to see our Sec. of State, a very elegant lady, dressed as she pleased. She wears her power very well, too, like a second skin. What a woman!
Good lick hoosiermama! Doncha know it just really irks the Washington Press, who're used to eating in fancy restaurants, to have to come out here to Central Texas,and eat in the local diner? They view it as punichment, which, just maybe W does as well.
AHHH, another reason I don't watch Letterman any more. His jokes about the President and his well-deserved vacation are so biased, they make me too angry, too close to going to bed.
Plus, having to hear my nephew quote him at me is like overwhelm, so if I only hear them once, via said leftist-taught nephew, then it's enough!!
That said, that doesn't mean that I don't attempt to re-educate my Cornell-graduate nephew. But it's such a slow slog, since he lives in Hawaii, doesn't listen to any real news, and seems to have his head buried in liberal sand!
Anyway, I find that people who live in Hawaii are pretty much out of touch with the real world.

When I lived there, I worked in a Navy Command Center. Reading the "traffic" and then going outside of it, for dinner and visiting friends, it was like 2 different worlds. Of course, what I was reading was so highly classified, I couldn't talk about much of it, and used to read some of the UPI stuff, or local rag, just to know what I COULD talk about!
But between running, swimming, and eating pineapple, it's as though their heads got emptied of brains when the landed. Pity.
Well everyone.......I believe when I came on here I had about 2 or 3 months until I left......Now it's tomorrow !!!!
