Wow. I would have said that the National Enquirer didn't have a political agenda.

I recall photos of little John-John in his little wasp sailor suit, and the lefties thought it was adorable.

The Style article was absolutely classless and written by a crude ignoramus with no breeding. Surprise--the Roberts have nice clothes that they wear to parties and---maybe even to church! And it's probably their parents' hope that in dress-up clothes, they will act as nice as they look! Here's the article

What a bunch of BS.

I like calling them the New York Trash. Or referring to them as the New York Trash-Tabloid -- giving the National Enquirer a run for its money...

My sentiments exactly. What could they possibly find derogatory to Roberts in adopting some kids? Most people would think this was admirable.

Is the NY Times sinking lower than democraticunderground.com? I love it when they expose themselves this way.

One prints outrageous fabrications, celebrity gossip and
personal matters of no legitimate concern to the public and the other is sold in Supermarket checkout lanes.

Adopting two blond children from Latin America, where blond hair and nordic features are not only relatively rare, but highly prized, is unusual. Those who are blond tend to be among the rich class, and would less likely to need give their children away. It does not seem likely that there are enough unwanted blond children born in Latin America that they can give them to foreign couples. However, unlikely does not mean impossible.

Anyway, it is all speculation, and I trust that this adminstration has already looked into the issue, and if there were any inproprieties they would not have nominated him. I suspect there nothing to find, and the media will come up empty.

"lots of nazi war criminals supposedly fled to argentina. is the slimes maybe trying to link these kids to one of them?"

The thing that has always annoyed me is the widespread cluelessness about "Hispanics" in general. Somebody needs to get Clemenza in on this thread. How do they think the European surnames got there? Gonzalez? Please. Argentinians, Chileans, many Brazilians... white as any European, because they descend from Europeans... from Spain and Portugal, Germany and France, many of whom were quite blonde. Any "Nazi" presence there would have been minor; they chose South America precisely because they could blend in to the population already present there.

It's just stupid, stupid, stupid. Stunningly so.

The Times is sending Roberts a message, IMO - "Withdraw your name NOW, or else."

It's just one of their many ridiculous complaints. They don't like their CLOTHING, oh and they REALLY are offended that Roberts' children look like JFK's kids.

If you can stand the drivel, look here:

They even have side-by-side pictures.

"I would have never guessed his children were adopted which was maybe the point of him going to a Latin American country (easier) and finding two fair looking children (less questions asked!)."

My guess - and others - is that ultimately this is going to be about playing the race card, about Roberts' insisting on white children and shunning poor babies-of-color.

If someone would post the Times' telephone number I would very much appreciate it!

Ah! But we can do more changing their nickname to the New York Trash-Tabloid. It still retains the "T", but totally changing the meaning -- which I feel is appropriate. A Trash-Tabloid does stuff like this, not a real newspaper with real journalism in their work.
