Glen Justice is Bloomberg News' campaign finance and lobbying reporter, responsible for covering political money nationwide from Washington D.C. Justice was on staff at The Philadelphia Inquirer and The Times-Picayune in New Orleans prior to joining Bloomberg in September 2000. His work has appeared in Newsweek, the Los Angeles Times and The Boston Globe and he has received several journalism awards, including those from the Associated Press, the Society of Professional Journalists and the New Orleans Press Club. Justice graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in journalism and did graduate work in business at Tulane University. Adopting two blond children from Latin America, where blond hair and nordic features are not only relatively rare, but highly prized, is unusual. Those who are blond tend to be among the rich class, and would less likely to need give their children away. It does not seem likely that there are enough unwanted blond children born in Latin America that they can give them to foreign couples. However, unlikely does not mean impossible.

Anyway, it is all speculation, and I trust that this adminstration has already looked into the issue, and if there were any inproprieties they would not have nominated him. I suspect there nothing to find, and the media will come up empty.

The thing that has always annoyed me is the widespread cluelessness about "Hispanics" in general. Somebody needs to get Clemenza in on this thread. How do they think the European surnames got there? Gonzalez? Please. Argentinians, Chileans, many Brazilians... white as any European, because they descend from Europeans... from Spain and Portugal, Germany and France, many of whom were quite blonde. Any "Nazi" presence there would have been minor; they chose South America precisely because they could blend in to the population already present there.

It's just stupid, stupid, stupid. Stunningly so.

My guess - and others - is that ultimately this is going to be about playing the race card, about Roberts' insisting on white children and shunning poor babies-of-color.

Ah! But we can do more changing their nickname to the New York Trash-Tabloid. It still retains the "T", but totally changing the meaning -- which I feel is appropriate. A Trash-Tabloid does stuff like this, not a real newspaper with real journalism in their work.
