Thank you.

There is nothing more disgusting for me than using the tragic deaths of our troops to score political points...........no matter if from the left, or from the right.

We 'Bush guys' are all alike anyway, aren't we?

What's the difference...........you've seen one, you've seen us all........right??

Au contraire!

There are more Bushie types than I really care to take the time to describe.

There are the naively nice ones, the sweetly inoffensive prayer chain ones, the ones who always go first to the "a day in life of Georgie (or whatever)" thread, argumentative ones, the pitiful unquestioning believers, the open mouth breathing, foul mouthed ones ... etc, etc, ad nauseum, ... and then, and then there's you, dear heart, QUEEN of the Bushies!

The King is brain dead, long live the Queen!

Well now.........I fit at least three of those categories, two of which you probably believe are mutually exclusive.

But that's OK, because you don't know what you're talking about anyway, and are just plain wrong most of the time, so I don't care what you think about much of anything......

(What category does THAT put me in ;)

Do NOT belittle the sacrifice of our brave troops by your petty politics!

It'll be a cold day in hell when I belittle the sacrifice of our men and, (I'm now ashamed to say) women who have been placed in peril.

The difference between you and me madam is that you are the type of dumb cow that will follow whatever "leader" that fate has deigned to hold your leash.

This swaggering little combat-dodger of privilege has placed thousands of our best citizens in a perilous situation that has absolutely nothing to do with the War of Islamic Jihadism (which, BTW, he does not even have the balls to call by its proper name).

He and his, too smart by half, minions have played global politics with the blood of our young service personnel since the day we left Afghanistan

So, you just keep on trying your feeble best to insult good patriotic Americans who pray every day for:
1) the lives of the poor pawns that have been placed in peril, and
2) for the leadership that the America deserves.

Or, God help us, have we got what we deserve?

Why don't you try to do a civil and appropriate reply?

As if I and you don't know the answer. ;-)

Civil and appropriate? After that emotional, irrational nonsense you posted personally attacking anyone who supports what we're doing in Iraq???

What? You can insult mindlessly, and we have to be 'civil and appropriate' in response?

Actually 'sober up' WAS appropriate. And more civil than you deserved after that bile you spewed.

That's what I heard about the snipers. The 14 Marines in the Amphtrac, otoh, appear to have been a case of poor road march routine. Apparently, Marines were using that road more often than was healthy and fell into a routine. Naturally, Haji planted a bomb in just the right spot. Haji used his head this time, and outsmarted us. WE were dumb in this case and fell into a bad habit of not screening a road march for bombs. Again, this was the analysis I heard on Imus this morning from one officer.

Of course, it helps if Haji has someone in the ING who is passing the bad guys road march information, but it might help to alter some or our route marches. Problem is, in the Haditha area, at least according to Eagle Eye, you've got one road in and out of town. Sort of takes the element of surprise away.

Be Seeing You,

Chris

My very sincere condolences to all in Ohio on this terrible loss.

A friend in Illinois told me that their state has a memorial fund set up for the families of their fallen Natl. Guard Soldiers and they also have dedicated a park to honor their memory. If the people of Ohio start a fund, please let us know when that happens so we can contribute.

Thank you so much. This is a deeply sorrowful time for us.

This state has a tremendous history of patriotism and willingness to serve this country in the Armed Forces.

We will make sure that the sacrifice of these men is honored..........even if there are those on the left, and on this very thread, who belittle their sacrifice because of their own politics. Excuse me for being very angry right now......

I really do feel sorry for you iconoclast. Do you wake up every day with that little black cloud of negativity hovering over your head. How lonely you must be to question everyones motives all the time and how depressing to believe that this most wonderful country on earth is always in the wrong, wrong, wrong!

I hope you dream of beautiful and good things tonight and that you wake up tommorow with a glimmer of faith.

love from one of the "dumb cows" aka grandma mac

MEG, I just played that for my husband and we wept together.

Our hero is 'home again,' but we grieve deeply for those families who will never be hugged by their husbands or sons in a tearful 'welcome home' embrace.

The pain is overwhelming.

Thanks for that link....

Of course you are angry hon, it is almost inconcievable to lose so many of your finest in two days and instead of getting sympathy and support, you see these hatefilled jibes. Ohio isn't grieving alone, we all mourn with you.

Try to channel your anger into action.....if one of the Marine's lived nearby, you can cook the family a meal or offer to help. Attend their final services. Find out the Unit(s)address and send a sympathy letter. The local Marine Recruiter will pass it along. Letters of loving sympathy to your local newspaper or to the families seem so small, and we don't want to intrude....but maybe they will be a small comfort to those families just knowing they are loved & supported.

Well, see now this "dumb cow" has started advising with out even being asked :)

Take care, grandma mac

Advice well taken, grandma mac. :)

My anger is a little more personal too. My son is not a Marine, but served in a 15 month deployment in Baghdad in the Army reserves.

He came home safely, thanks to God's mercy and grace, and we are so proud of his service, and feel such grief for those whose sons did not come home.

It is a personal affront to me and my family when this noble and just mission is besmirched by those who have no stake in it, and the Commander in Chief is belittled by those who are completely ignorant of who he is.

I'm going to do more than pray for these families. I AM going to see what I can do personally. One of the young men lived in the same town my sister lives in, and I plan to find out what I can do to help that family deal with this enormous loss.

Thanks for the encouragement.

We're known by the company that we keep....so if icon wants to call us names....well, were in pretty darned good company with Allegra et al.

Personally, I always believed that profanity and name-calling is a sign of ignorance....

Ah, no wonder you have personal feelings. 15 months waiting for your son's safe return would make the grief you feel for your fellow Ohioans even more poignant and heartbreaking.

Yes, there are some who besmirch this "noble and just mission", and yes, they also belittle President Bush. History often repeats itself. President Abraham Lincoln was denigrated and mocked in his time, and yet he was the Commander in Chief of the army that freed the slaves. History will judge President Bush and kindly, I suspect.

I really don't want to see this war come to our shores. I never want to see the day when little American girls are treated like the little ones in Afghanistan were, afraid to go outdoors or be allowed to go to school. I pray that our little American boys and girls never feel the terror of rape rooms or torture chambers, like the people of Iraq hadsuffered. What could be more noble & just that keeping America safe while also also giving a first precious taste of freedom to those Afghanis & Iraqis?
