It shouldn't; lightning hits aircraft all the time, and they're designed for it.

However, there are rare positive bolts which are much, much stronger and suspected in some mysterious crashes.

Must be the brother of the Airbus whose computer landed it in trees at a Paris airshow a few years ago.

Oh, get a grip.

CNN

Eyewitness talking about a 'valley' at the end of the runway; that the plane ran off the runway and into that valley area.

That's a little early. No one know the cause of this at this point.

The runway numbers are named by their compass bearing, 24 = 240 degrees. L and R are when you have 2 parallel runways.

If it ain't Boeing, I ain't going! Only been on an Airbus once, and hated the egg shaped seats.

I think wind shear was the cause of that one, also!

I remember lining up with hundreds of people to give blood..

I also remember that the most horrifying thing at the time, was that a motorist on a freeway near the airport was decapitated as the plane came down and crashed...ugh.

I flew Airbus twice...had more room than those Boeing puddle jumpers on Useless Air.

My old airline got hit lots of times by lightning, when you think about it, you are an ionized metal tube, its a wonder more planes don't get zapped.
