Plus the fact that if you are disposing of "garbage" in the day time, it won't look weird. Disposing of "garbage" at night does look weird.

Well, I see you're the fly buzzing around again today. You seriously need some help. Maybe we can take up a collection for you.

Hey, Dark Skies! I was going to ping you because I remember some posts you made along the same lines. I'm way behind on the posts...had to skip some but will go back asap....wanted to get to the most recent to see if ANYTHING has been resolved.

"Aruba...Vortex of Evil." Someone needs to replace their current travel brochures; your description seems most appropriate for the new cover.

Why are you people doing this? I have never seen more argumentative people in my life. Yes, I live in the real world. I think that every person lives in harm's way in this country, which has been permeated with liberalism, sexuality, drugs, rape, exploitation of children, murder and permissivness and the first time they underestimate the danger to them, may be their last. Whether they live in Mountain Brook, Detroit or Aruba they are in harm's way. The only "real" life experiences I have had regarding violence are those nights when I can not sleep thinking about a little nine year old girl who was buried alive only after she had been sexually molested for three days. I can not imagine what was going through that darling little heart. How about the most recent, the Groene children, you know the ones who saw their mother and friends shot to death, then they were abducted, the little girl lived but only after she had seen her brother sodomized and then murdered, the list is endless. Then there is my daughter-in-law, who simply went to Home Depot, only for a thug to jump in her car with her and at gun point ordered her to drive away. Luckily, just the week before, I had given her a book written by an FBI profiler. She read it and the advice given was to never, never pull away from a populated area if you have been abducted. She didn't, as she was pulling out she took off to the front of the store and began screaming for help. This did not happen in Aruba it was a town in Ohio similiar to the size and scope of Mountain Brook and incidentally, my DIL was also raised with privilege, but not stupid. I don't know where you live and it doesn't matter, but it is definitely the real world and you better get wise to it.

Onyx you are correct of the statute of limitations on murder. I just hate to see the alleged bluebloods skirting the realms of justice.

Conduit was given a pass by the D.C. (inept are we) Police Department.

Thanks for the info and keep the faith.

Thanks, pnz1...hope she gave info to US LE. Maybe she just couldn't say more because she had been told not to mention some things. Okay, I don't feel like smacking her now! But, I sure did then!

Although she might not have been on the honor roll the final semester, she was (as I recall) given a full scholarship to her university.

I think people often want to blame the victim in cases like this because it gives them an assurance that "it wouldn't happen to me because I wouldn't do that." Wouldn't wear my dress that short, wouldn't drink that much, wouldn't do whatever it is they think contributed to the circumstances.

But while I don't agree with those who want to blame Natalee, I also don't agree with those who want to demonize Joran. The police in Aruba may have information that paints him as a violent person (they must have something more than the public knows otherwise I don't see how they could still have him in jail), but I haven't seen anything other than innuendo that depicts him as some sort of madman. I think it does little to solve the case to hyperbolize his behavior. Even the New Jersey girl's story that Beth Twitty was recounting on Greta's show did nothing to depict him as anything worse than a callow youth who attracted lots of attention in C&C.

HB, sounds like the words of the benevolent, Frances E.(Want my fifteen for fame) Bird.

My impression of her is a jealous, envious, person who posed as Natalee's friend. I can visualize her thinking, Natalee got what she deserved. Bird is the type of person who would not have intervened to help Naalee, even if she could.

As I See It,

He got away with murder. At least it's hard to think otherwise.

"What is "casino floor apartment" referred to in the last sentence of 2)? Does anybody know what they are talking about?"

because of your question, I went back and read the whole thing carefully. "casino floor apartment" might be a tax-based term/description for a vendor-type arrangement between individuals and the actual casino management, i.e. mansur might have a contract for an "apartment" that is in fact a blackjack table in the casino, allowing him to do business under the umbrella of the casino's licenses, etc.

If this sort of arrangement is the norm in aruba (20 grand a month fee to operate a gambling business), one only needs to imagine who all in aruba might be running their own little gambling and/or moneylaundering business within/under the guise of the actual casino. Cops, lawyers, gangsters, govt officials, newspaper editors, who knows?

But anybody who pays $20k a month for an "apartment" is up to something. I'm not certain, but I think I read something along the way here about joran having been a dealer in one of the casino's, but if true, he probably was only staying in the "apartment" while the owner of the "apartment" was away.....perhaps to Holland?

disclaimer....this is only a guess about the possoble ramification of the odd language in the post that originated on some other site.

Toespi...if I may...

I agree with you that there are dangers out there. I know you are right about that. But, I think where this keeps getting off track is that we cannot assume that Natalee had the same awareness. Not everyone does. We can't apply what we know to the mindset of an 18 year old kid who may or may not have had any idea just how much danger is out there. To say oh, doesn't she have a TV? doesn't she watch the news?, etc. Maybe she watched Friends or MTV or The O.C. Not all young people keep up with the things that you and I keep up with.

You are right about the crime. Nobody says you aren't. But we cannot assume Natalee was as informed as you.
