A renegade band of Mexican military deserters, offering $50,000 bounties for the assassination of U.S. law-enforcement officers, has expanded its base of operations into the United States to protect loads of cocaine and marijuana being brought into America by Mexican smugglers, authorities said.

I always wondered about that name Fox. Zorro he's not.
Sure it does.
As transnational corporate farming displaces Latin American subsistance farming, it is logical to expect that many of the subsistance farmers will resort to growing illicit "crops". These will also be easier to smuggle into the United States due to the relaxed import restictions under CAFTA.
Well, I can think of one possible solution to your issue of US Military being unable to "arrest" invaders under Posse Commitatus (which I opine needs to be revisited by the SCOTUS). But I very much doubt that it will ever happen.
Don't you ever wonder about that statement that these "Zeta" guys are all "deserters" from the Mexican military?
I've got to wonder if that's just a cover for a covert tactical military deployment under the full, albeit secretive auspices of the FOX Regime for US border penetration and creating internal chaos in preparation for a more significant invasion. Since they've been helping Jihaddists get into the US, don't we suppose that Islamic Jihad might reciprocate by assisting Mexico in it's ambitions?
Didn't Osamma BL consider drugs to be another weapon to be used against Europe and America? Did all those poppy fields in Afghanistan have anything to do with AlQuida setting up HQ there?
Are we seeing a certain connection here?
What we might need is a serious dust-up between Zetas and Federal Officers - which they seem to be reasonably adept at avoiding for some reason.
If Zeta casualties or captives could be directly linked to Mexican military, or that they had any kind of military support, we could then declare war on Mexico in response to their preemptive invasion of soverign US territory.
Then any "illeagals" - at least those caught under arms - could be considered "Enemy combattants"/POWs.
But you're right; that's a pipe dream.
The corruption probably goes a lot higher up the US administrative ladder than we would even care to consider.
What's more likely is that terrorists will blackmail the US with a nuke into ceding a good part of the SW US back to Mexico.
Then our undefended border will be West of Louisiana and Arkansas, and somewhere South of Nebraska.
Won't that be fun!?
Then extension of the Caliphate throughout "restored" Mexico will be deferred to another day; they have bigger fish to fry first.
I'm doing my best to figure out where you are coming from.
Obviously - you don't think the military should be put on the US border. I disagree.
However - I don't think that the U.S. Military should be put on the U.S. Border to act as police and arrest people.
I think the U.S. Military should be put on the border to protect the country by killing and destroying the invaders.
Let the existing border patrol handle the legal entry points into the U.S. - but put the military everywhere else. And order them to protect the border at all costs.
I'm not talking about just a couple military patrols with humvees and .50 cal... I talking about a full scale operation with air support and a free fire zone - anything and anyone seen crossing into the U.S. should be destroyed immediately - no questions asked.
I sincerely believe that after a few days of death - the invasion would stop.

"Ya think the ACLU will organize a protest against these gun toting vigilantes?"
No the ACLU is probably handing out road maps and lemonade to these military invaders.
What is going on is the loss of American sovereignty. One world government, one world order.
What is planned for America is to pull the US down to third world level so the rest of the world can get a large portion of our wealth and can be built up by taking from Americans.
Don't forget that NAFTA and CAFTA are the prelude to FTAA (Free Trade Association of the Americas) soon to be foisted onto us by the president and congress more interested in multinational corporations than in American citizens. Then there will be no borders, either north or south, for America. The plan is to accomplish this by 2010.
We are being sold out, folks.
Because you have a functioning brain.

you are against our military defending our country by protecting the borders...But somehow I suspect you are gleeful about our border patrol agents AND our military defending Iraq's borders...
Would be the perfect job and training for our National Guard, land and air...
But when one considers we have an official WAR on drugs and terror, you have to wonder why our gov't, who's job it is to defend the citizens of our country, refuses to defend it...
When something doesn't make sense, usually there's a buck in it...And in this case, it's a very big buck...Maybe MENA wasn't just a rumor after all...
Yes, some of our polticians certainly appear to be bribed or blackmailed, other might be sleeper agents or mentally unbalanced.
What we expect or demand doesn't count anymore. Washington is not listening. Their agenda excludes the opinions of American citizens, those of us who are paying the bills for their mess.
This becoming more evident each passing day.
This is a very interesting link that rings very true. I believe that one related reason the U.S. is allowing illegal immigration unabated is that shortly after sealing the borders, revolution would ensue in Mexico, and the govt. is all too aware of all the illegals coming across with Che Guevera T-shirts on.
There is no land richer in natural resources and potential year-round agricultural bounty and more laden with corruption than Mexico.
