BUSH EXERCISES 6X A WEEK; 'MOST-FIT' PRESIDENT IN HISTORY
President Bush turned 59 years old this month and his health is in the "superior" fitness category for men his age -- greater than 99% percentile for 55-59 year-old men!
The latest health results make Bush the "most-fit" president in modern history.
He has not had a sick day in the past year -- and he works out 6 days a week: Workouts include bicycling (15-20 miles, 15-18mph), treadmill (low impact "hill-work"), elliptical trainer, free weight resistance training, and stretching.
The President takes a daily multi-vitamin, low-dose aspirin, glucosamine/chondroitin, and an omega 3 supplement.
Bush Weight: 191 pounds(last year 199)
Body Composition: Body fat 15.79% (last year 18.25%; normal for age 16.5-20.5%)
Resting heart rate (seated): 47 bpm
Resting blood pressure (seated): 110/64
Uncompensated (uncorrected) distant visual acuity was 20/20 in both eyes. Corrected near visual acuity was 20/20 in both eyes (the President uses reading glasses as needed).
Bush does suffer from gastroesophageal reflux (GERD), with well-defined triggers (e.g. coffee, peppermint).

Jim Fixx comes to mind, never know when it is time....

How can the left spin something negative out of this?
Wanna bet they'll find a way?
Hated to find out we had a president receiving BJs while discussing troop movements.
Am, all health risks aside, Dubya is the "most fit" President to hope for in these times.
Yo Bubba Clintoon, eat your heart out!
It's Bush's fault ...
God bless him, more power to him. I'm in that age bracket and get winded taking a shower, obviously I don't excercize... maybe my fingers, but thats about it. Think I'll let this inspire me to get in shape.
If it is doable Nancy and Harry will place it in the forefront of political concern.
Jim Fixx was more of a real fanatic - he decided that when it came to aerobic exercise, more was better, more than that was even better, and much more was the best. He also started out unhealthy and decided to turn it around - no telling what hidden surprises his system had waiting for him as he stressed himself beyond sanity in the name of health.
True. But if I remember correctly, Jim Fixx had been a smoker and very overweight when he was younger. Can someone verify that for me?
He was a walking heart attack...just that his name has become synonymous with healthy folks keelin' over...
"The President must resign! This is an outrage! He's hiding his GERD from the American people" < /Hysterical Left >
They already have. That idiot with the LA times saw his fitness regimen as being too focused, or some such nonsense.
What killed Fixx was his poor diet. He'd eat doughnuts and other high-fat foods and then try to jog it off, thinking that it'll cancel the fat out.
>>Body Composition: Body fat 15.79%<<
Not bad, but I'm surprised its this high with all the running he's done. His body either doesn't put on muscle as easily as some or he doesn't do the right kind of weight work.
