Hillary Clinton wants to be the darling of the left and the candidate of the center, and why not? More than any other Democrat, save oneher husbandshe knows what it takes to win, and she fully and completely comprehends the opposition.
Liberals went ballistic this week when Clinton called for a ceasefire among Democrats at a much ballyhooed appearance before the DLC, the centrist Democratic Leadership Council that helped elect her husband president. Clintons Rodney King Moment, is all about 2008, says a former John Kerry adviser: What shes saying is, Why cant we all get along and support me?
Clinton didnt single out liberals, and her intent might have been more ecumenical in urging all wings of the party to turn their guns on the hard-right ideology in Washington instead of each other. But her presence at the DLC convention in Columbus, Ohio, spoke volumes. It said to the left that this is where she is planting her flag for the presidential race. And what shes doing now is taking care of whatever perceived weaknesses she has, as well as those of the Democratic Party. She shouldnt trim her principles, but she has the leeway to defy the liberal stereotypes. As a progressive in a country where half or more of voters are reflexively conservative, she has to find ideas that surprise people and grab their attention if shes going to break through as a national candidate.
This kind of intraparty warfare is familiar ground for Democrats. Hillarys comments were almost identical to the sentiments Bill Clinton voiced some 15 years ago at a DLC event when there was a dispute with the Democratic National Committee. Having the vast left-wing conspiracy after you isnt a bad thing in a political climate where the liberal label is problematic.....

To Eleanor Clift, Michael Moore is a "Hawkish Centrist."
That's funny, because I seem them both teetering on the leftmost parimeter of the Twilight Zone.
In other words Elinor, you admit Hillary is 110 % phony, but you back her anyway. Thanks for admitting your whoredom : )
I hate Hillary Clinton.
I ain't giving up my "Vote For Pedro" sign.
That dog don't hunt.
Can you say 'taqiyyah'?
Smoke and mirrors. The Wicked Witch of the East has these and more in her broom closet.
** And down the mountain comes the gigantic avalance of BULL S@@T. **
Get your shovels out folks, the smell is already drifting this way...Hitlery's mouth is already looking like the south end of a bull.
The only problem with this strategy is that Red Staters aren't as abjectly stupid as the leftists, feminazis, and minorities who vote Democrat. Conservatives see this clumsy attempt at deception and are disgusted by it.
and everything she stands for.
You're right, we're not, but who have we chosen - at this moment in time - to run. Hell, we have not even uttered a single word about what is happening with recent nominations - if we sit back silently and let them run the show, why bother to win. Now the other side of the coin may be our objective - just sit back and watch the self-destruct machine do it magic - God I hope that is what is going on.
Hillary Clinton a hawk! ROTFLMAO!! Now that's funny. I don't care who you are, that's funny right there.
Which explains why we should be skeptical anytime we read the far left is critical of Hillary. It's just a ruse so stupid voters think Hillary really really has shifted to the middle, or really really has become a hawk on defense.
But Eleanor has lost her mind, lost it, I tell you, to try and compare Hillary to Margaret Thatcher.
Another load of crap written by a woman whose face always looks like she's in the middle of an unproductive bowel movement.
The "face" of most DUmmies.
No, she doesn't stand for anything so I don't hate what she stands for. She's nothing but a core-less opportunist who lusts for power. At least with people like Bernie Sanders, Nancy Pelosi, and Ted Kennedy you know where they stand and that they will stick to their core beliefs. Hillary is a fake trying to copy her valueless husband.
If Hillary wants to play the game right she should enlist John McCain as her running mate...they'd be perfect together.
