What authority would grant someone with his record a clearance? This is absurd... Anyone on the intelligence committee in either house should be above reproach. Alcee Hastings should never get the clearance to attend compartmented briefings. How can he do the job. Will the Democrats say that denying him a clearance is racism? Even they are not the stupid are they? Of course, this is Nancy Pelosi isn't it?

"From the party of Truman to this in just one generation. Amazing."Why amazing? Truman is the man who trusted and protected Alger Hiss, Lawrence Duggan, Harry Dexter White, Lauchlin Currie, William Remington and Judith Coplon, all of them known Soviet spies inside his administration. Viewed from that perspective, this actually represents progressAlcee Hastings, after all, is merely a tool of drug dealers, not of a murderous Communist dictatorship.

The only RATs dumber than Alcee are the ones who keep reelecting him. He's a jive-ass mother-effer if there ever was one. The last thing we need is this vote-slave next to any classified information.

Maybe the Dem legislators should just all wear shirts with "I Hate America" emblazoned on them.

No bones about it. Democrats are scum. Being in the opposition hasn't cured them of the downward slide that accelerated in the Clinton years. Democrats who view themselves as "moderates" need to look in the mirror and ask themselves if they want to continue to support their leadership. Hopefully, time is running out for them.

The still Honorable Billybob didn't mention a few important points. Hastings was impeached by a Democratic controlled House and then convicted by a Democratic controlled Senate. Then after having his criminal conviction overturned on appeal, but without having his impeachment conviction overturned, he had his entry into Congress approved by a Democratic controlled House. (So what if the constitution doesn't provide for appeals of impeachments; when has such an absence stopped these guys?) The House had the power to block his seating, even without the unused bar on federal office, but instead allowed that the standard to be Democratic member of Congress was lower than the standard to be a federal judge. Subsequent Congresses have honored this no-call. I wish there were even one Republican in the House who'd file a motion to unseat his ex-Honor.

You're gonna get in trouble taking files from "the ONION" and disguising them as being from NEWS MAX. What exactly are you talking about?

What's the matter Nancy? Is Jane Harman too willing to actually work with the GOP for OUR security? I guess she wants someone who will follow the only plan the Democrats have, obstruction.

Pelosi's just trying to "ramp" up the "racialist groups" to action. That's all. Alcee H could legally NOT at all be considered for the position she's recommending. It's a ruse.

The Dems set the bar pretty low, so this is really no surprise.
The only thing going for Hastings is he is not a convicted felon. But, if he were, the Dems would no doubt still appoint him. After all, convicted felons are a large part of their base constituency.
I'll bet the next thing you know, they will be electing child molesters and rapists to high office. Oh, wait a minute, they already have. But, aside from Bill and Hillary, have they elected any murderers yet?

I'm surprised she didn't nominate Jihawd Cynthia McKinney.

But, aside from Bill and Hillary, have they elected any murderers yet? Tubby Kennedy and Gary Condit come to mind, neither of them have ever been charged or convicted, but that doesn't necessarily mean they are innocent.
