It won't matter to me, but it will to my grandsons.
Schröder is (or soon: was) a disastrous diplomat. Just think of the double standard Iraq/Chechnya. He didn´t phone with Bush but embraces Putin! He doesn´t care that the latter is responsible for three times as many deads than Bush (if you even can compare both and call it like that: 150,000 deads in Chechnya, ca. 50,000 deads in Iraq).
Unfortunately, the polls show only a slight majority for CDU/CSU/FDP. And it´s not Western Germany that kills us, no. It´s the East: 33% would vote for the Commies, and 27% each for CDU and SPD. Horrible figures!!
We need your prayers. Call your Mom. Every vote for the change counts!! :-)
I´m glad that you agree with me that the pullout isn´t payback. Reasons #1 and #3 are the weakest imho, but still I agree with your words.
Be good Mike, have fun.
Thanks, you too.
T,
I'm sure there will be a presence at the ports, and Rhein-Main I doubt will ever be without American servicemembers. But I dunno the point of keeping all those folks in Bavaria- they ought to have left a long time ago.
I'll tell you a story sometime about blowing the Schutzen badge.
This is probably also happening because of political pressure from Gerhard Shroder and the German Lefties.
You're right. He's interested in Ramstein AFB....got the two mixed up. My nephew tells me that it's because I was an Army brat. haha!
Just thought I'd tell you about this 'Green Goose' group on Yahoo, you might be interested...

I was with 3 ID at Larsen Kaserne in Kitzingen (1975-1978), about 20 k south of Wuerzburg.
My old stomping grounds in 1970s. Worked at Larson, frequented the booze shop (what was the nomenclature?)at the old Luftwaffe airstrip (Harvey Barracks), and drank Silvaner wine and ate cream puffs on Sundays on Schwanberg while gazing up at the microwave relay station and herds of deer on the top of the mountain.
Had a neighborhood buddy who worked the microwave com station in Wuerzburg, spoke better German than me, and knew all the bad girls in Wuerzburg.
There were times on REFORGER and other maneuvers that we used to own villages. You'd be surprised what you could get back then for a carton of Winstons, a 1/2 gallon of Jim Beam, and some Folger's coffee. If you could keep some ground beef and American ice cream cold until you got where you had to go, you were king.
It was good to be king.
"frequented the booze shop (what was the nomenclature?)"
Just remembered...the Class VI store.
Where are all the Majors and Lt. Colonels going to go on vacation if not Bad Aibling?
Maybe Zakopane, or Sopot, or Mazury Lakes :-)))
France might benefit from some German troops to help them put down their Muslim rioters
The 1/14 Cav has been on the border near Columbus NM for over a month now. They have been instrumental in the capture of more than 1000 illegals. Read all about it at elpasotimes.com

"Close them all. There are lots of countries in Eastern Europe that would love to have U.S. bases."
AMEN, Brother!!
