I think it's definitely in the interest of the Nationalists to go along with the peace process. Because of the papal ban on birth control and differing birth rates, Irish Catholics will be a majority in the North soon enough. That's why it's important to cooperate and go along with the peace process to get the Stormont(NI Parliament) reinstated so that it will be up and running once the Catholics have enough to take over.

My take on this story is that regardless of who was right and who was wrong (if it can even be reduced to those simplistic terms), and regardless of the tactics that may or may not have been used, I hope and pray that reason has finally prevailed and the violence between the Protestants and Catholics will finally be put to rest permanently.

Some years back when the violence abated (if not fully ended), Ireland's economy (which had been a basket case) leaped forward into the 21st. century and they are currently doing spectacularly well.

Would that all terroristas heed this lesson that violence does not work (at least over the long haul) and that peace and reconciliation is the only true path to a generalized prosperity for all in a global economy.
