Once again, Colorado Congressman Tom Tancredo is speaking for the majority of sane Americans. And once again, liberals, terrorist sympathizers (is there an echo in here?), and cowards across the country want him rebuked and repudiated.
Democrats, some Muslim groups, and the partisan media are boo-hooing over comments Tancredo made regarding the war on terror. Specifically, theyre upset over his response to a question by radio interviewer Pat Campbellwho asked Tancredo what the appropriate response would be to a nuclear terror threat against America.
Tancredo said the following: What if you said something like, If this happens in the United States and we determine that it is the result of extremist, fundamentalist Muslims, you could take out their holy sites.
Campbell said, Youre talking about bombing Mecca.
To which Tancredo replied, Yeah. What if you said, we recognize that this is the ultimate threat to the United States, therefore this is the ultimate response.
Predictably, shock emanated from both liberals and conservatives. Liberals were furious over the barbarism of such an idea, adding Tancredos name to the Karl Rove/Tom DeLay list of Republicans to get thrown out of office.
Somehow, this version of Mutually Assured Destruction (MAD)the wildly popular liberal solution to anything involving a threat of violence against Americansis suddenly unacceptable to pacifiers on the Left.
While conservatives believe threatening Mecca with Daisy Cutters makes perfect sense, the liberal solution to Muslim terrorism looks a lot more like a paralyzed chicken asking a hungry fox not to eat him.
Its simply fascinating that liberalswho have such little faith in Godhave no trouble believing that the natural born killers of Al Qaeda would make peace with us if we would simply be nicer to them.
Conservatives, on the other hand, were shocked to find anyone in our federal government with enough common sense to say something so intelligent.
While liberals decry Tancredos remarks as hateful and demand the Republican Party denounce him, the Colorado congressman is sticking by his statement.
In the Denver Post, he wrote, Many critics of my statements have characterized them as offensive, and indeed they may have offended some. But in this battle against fundamentalist Islam, I am hardly preoccupied with political correctness, or who may or may not be offended. Indeed, al-Qaeda cares little if the Western world is offended by televised images of hostages beheaded in Iraq, subway bombings in London, train attacks in Madrid, or Americans jumping to their death from the Twin Towers as they collapsed.
For their part, Republicans at large have not repudiated Tancredo.
Instead, like the crazy uncle who shows up drunk to every family gathering (or as the Kennedys call him Uncle Teddy), Republicans try to ignore Tancredo, hoping hell just go away.
But the congressman is right, the American people know it, and his comments should be defended, not refuted.
Just as the country rallied behind President Bush following the 9/11 attacks, when he promised the people who knocked those buildings down will here from all of us, Tancredo speaks for the majority of Americans, who dont want thousands more of their countrymen murdered before our government decides to take further action against terrorists.
Tancredos message is an important warning to all involved in the war on terrorism.
Those who presently turn a blind eye to terror need to know that there will be consequences for their inaction. They believe Mecca and other religious sites are sacred. Americans feel the same way about our lives and our freedom. If they are willing to stand by while their countrymen kill innocent American civilians, they should know what the consequences could be.
For our part, Americans must realize that those who aid, sponsor, and hide terrorists do not understand peace, harmony, or freedom.
Our enemies speak only the language of death.
They need to know that any attack on American soil will be met with an incomprehensible destruction that will give new meaning to the word.

No wonder somebody once said, something akin to, "The U.S. is likely to be the only country in world history to adopt policies and laws that ensure self-destruction."
Relating to terrorists, is it any wonder a seized al-Qaida training manual pointed out, "why attack a lion, when you can attack a lamb?"
We lived up to this: they tested us and with few exceptions, we invited attacks: our embassy hostages in Iran - no retaliation; Beirut - no retaliation; Khobar Towers - no retaliation, two U.S. embassies - no retaliation; USS COLE - no retaliation; and WTC '93 - no retaliation because Clinton kissed it off as a 'law enforcement matter.' Also, after each attack on his watch, his empty response was the same: we would not tolerate these attacks. All to avoid retaliation.
Then, in the runup to the 2000 elections, the Rats mantra was Bush is a wimp. I feel terrorists mis-calculated it would be more of the same and thus 9/11. This time the lamb turned out to be a tiger.
Is it time for a game of Cowboys and Muslims with 'tit-for-tat'?
Shock and Awe comes to mind.
Cowboys and Muslims!
Brilliant! LOL!
When the coffee kicks in, and I'm compus mentis, I'm going to write a letter of support to him, and I urge my fellow Freepers to do the same!
Tancredo better watch out, or start that presidential campaign, now. According to Tammy Bruce (Rush is out of town on vacation) Dick Armey will be heading up a campaign to characterize Minute Men, Tancredo and their supporters as racist hicks in order to gain support for Bush's amnesty program.
Tom Tancredo is right on target and these Islamist murderers deserve nothing less.
Has any one seen A Fatwa written by an Islam Religious leader to stop their own Murdderous thugs ?
And Maybe Saudi Arabia should be put on the target list since they funded these Terrorists with billions of dollars.
The Soviet Union had the ability to destroy every major city in the US. Russia still does.
Tancredo for President in 2008! He's got my support because he truly "gets it". Finally, someone with the guts to be real about the evil we are facing!
Let's see the President do that. Yeah, right. Go ahead, Jorge, sign that sell out plan. I can see the Costa Rican farmers lining up for their brand new Hummers right now.

It is hard to tell just WHO HE IS WORKING FOR ???
I offered to volunteer to work on his campaign in NYS should he run for President. : )
They need to hear from us for the good things they do, especially when they take a stand for what's right and are being trashed by their peers and/or media for doing so.
Good you sent/will send an e-mail.
But Allah ala Moohamud is the false 'god,' 'allah.' Rodney Dangerfield would get more respect from me.
Besides, insanity by any other name is still insanity and best to not enshrine any part of it.
If they want to earn respect let them snip the label from their souls and use the manufacturer's manual to heat their homes.
You mean like Israel? Sorry. I'd rather blow both their 'tats' off to begin with. Round 'em up, ship 'em out, Rawhide.
Teddy Kennedy is your uncle?
YaaaaaaaHoooooo!
Hitler was evil. His primary tactics were lying, cheating, and manipulation. Lying's an easy skill -- a five year old can be taught it in minutes. It's why there are child actors. (There are no child rocket scientist or teachers, engineers, or journalist, waitresses, or garbage truck drivers -- as those jobs take skills more complicated than lying.)
Hitler also manipulated, controlled, and took pleasure in hurting others. Manipulation is as easy as not having a conscience and having an IQ slightly above average. Basically, Hitler's a Ted Bundy or Charles Manson with broad power. "Hitlers" exist in our culture, but our system keeps them at the "pumping gas" level of society. "Hitlers" also exist in the Islamic world, but their systems, based on corruption and a phony bow to religion, supports the growth of these monsters. At international levels wars are fought to destroy this type of human sewage.
They don't see things the way the rest of us do. They feel the destroyer is the equal of the builder. He's not. It's the equivalent of believing a grand master (chess player) and a kid walking into a match and tipping over chess boards are equals. The grand master and the vandal get opponents pieces off the board, but to call the vandal an equal is silly. A five year old can knock pieces off a chess board. But it's not "playing the game." And it can't be "a win."
And that's why islamofacist are angry. They're not in the game, they're just knocking over setup chess boards. They're imagining they're playing the game, but the world knows they're not -- and that's why they hate us.
So does the UK, France, China, India and Pakistan (by now), etc. Are they threats? Sure they are - every last one of them!
So were the Soviets - as are the Russians now. Threats? Sure! But all they have/had is the one "Big Stick". They know that the threat, though awesome, is hollow. Very little is worth the destruction of the entire planet, and the Russians know that as well as we do.
No Nation in the world can best us on the conventional battlefield; especially when we choose the time and place.
There won't be any Middle East left to shock and awe if they nuke us.
