Intelligence Summit 2006

Posted on 07/26/2005 9:15:11 PM PDT by GunnyBob

There is a continuous interest among Freepers in gathering accurate intelligence regarding the war on terror.

To that end, the Intelligence Summit (www.intelligencesummit.org) is set for Feb 2006 in DC. Lots of high-speed speakers will deliver presentations, including former DCI James Woolsey.

My presentation will be titled "Countermeasure Methodology: Defeating Terrorists in the Reconnaissance Phase of the Operation."

If any of you attend, please intro yourself to me.

BTT and good luck!

Why does this stuff always happen in a grubby little backwater like D.C.?

You are talking about the place of my birth! Sadly, though, you are right.

One Washingtonian to another...explain disinformation, it's importance and the fact you need to take all news from all source with a grain of salt.

My presentation won't be on that topic, but I do mention and talk about it regularly on my shows.

From the Intellegence Summit website:

Countermeasure Methodology: Defeating Terrorists in the Reconnaissance Phase of the Operation

Abstract:
Terrorists are able to carry out effective, well-coordinated attacks only after conducting thorough reconnaissance on selected targets. Regardless of their political, religious or social motivations, operational terrorist cells employ the same six-step process when mission planning, the third of which is target reconnaissance. "Countermeasure Methodology: Defeating Terrorists in the Reconnaissance Phase of the Operation" will examine the employment of Vulnerability Assessment Teams (VATs) to determine factors at a potential terrorist target that increase attack vulnerability and devise practical countermeasures, with the goal being to cause the terrorist reconnaissance team to avoid selecting a particular target because the evident countermeasures increase to an unacceptable level the chances of mission failure.
