Prayers For Red Sox Star Matt Clement

Posted on 07/26/2005 5:28:28 PM PDT by CarlEOlsoniii

vanity

For any Boston Sox Fan Freepers (and I know there are some)please pray for Matt Clement. If you are watching the game, he was just incredibly hit by a hit ball in the head on the mound. He lied on the mound for at least five minutes, motionless. The most shocking moment I have seen in sports. Please pray

To make it all the way to the outfield means it still had a lot of energy. That means less energy was transferred to the pitcher. To have it stop dead is worse, but the very worst is to have it bounce back toward the plate. He actually got the best deal of the three.

Seems odd that WGN, stuck wasting time in a rain delay, apparently hasn't covered the story yet, AFAIK.

I got bopped in the face by a line drive once when I was pitching in a neighborhood kid's game. I just had time to turn my head and get it in the cheek instead of the mouth. I played outfield after that.

I don't know, but even if the skull is not compromised, and he feels fine now, the potential for a fatal CVA is going to continue for many hours, if not days, IMHO.

God help him.

Was Bruce Sutter blotto, or is he just goofy?

To make it all the way to the outfield means it still had a lot of energy. . . . He actually got the best deal of the three.

I was thinking a similar thing. I hope we're right.

WGN is not a national network, just a cable superstation, everything they do is from Chicago

My prayers go out to Matt Clement, that he will fully recover from this injury.

What happened to Trot Nixon? Tonight?

When he took a swing it appears he hurt his back. They took him out and I haven't heard a report yet.

You don't even want to THINK about going for a couple of rounds with Petronski....go to bed, Don-O.

That way you won't suffer as he zips you one side to the other, Don-O remaining clueless as it happens.

He was out cold before he hit the ground- you can tell by the position his body is in.

No leg movement at all; just hands slowly pulsating up and down

The fact that you didn't know the answer to that question is, I'm sure one of the many reasons that Cyborg fell in love with you... : )
