July 26, 2005 Five Egyptian men with maps of the New York City subway system and video of New York landmarks have been arrested by the Joint Terrorism Task Force in Newark, N.J., ABC News has learned.
FBI and law enforcement officials told ABC News the five men four illegal immigrants and one law enforcement fugitive were arrested Sunday night following a tip to the Newark Police Department. In addition to the subway maps and video, the men had train schedules and $8,000 in $20 and $50 bills.

Yes, yes, he's the one
Like I said, I use a savings bank, but I could see an illegal alien stuffing his dough under a matress. Not a lot of money for four guys, really. Like I said, they could be terrorist, but it's likely as not that they're just poor sumbitchs born in the wrong place.
It must really suck in Cairo, if educated folks (Civil Engineering graduates) would rather drive a cab in Newark than stay there. Part of the problem is the attitude and expectations that they themselves share. Many people in the third world want the prosperity we enjoy in the west, but it doesn't occur to them to adopt the characteristics that have made western societies so successful.
Hang 'em High ~ Bump!
P-ssy. ;-)
That's almost enough for a week of subway fares and a few car trips to Staten Island.
thats why I avoid the NYC subways at all costs these days

Aren't u concerned that they are getting a free trip back to Middle east to report what they have found? Some have great memories and don't need maps, can redraw them. I hope they don't lose their whereabouts....they could pick up more money, reinforcements and come right back...when do we actually do something about these people?
WE have Jordanians and other MEasterns owning gas stations/subways and other businesses in US with strange relatives or friends who show up later unchecked. How do we know why they are here? I sure wouldn't eat the food they serve to us, the indidels.
>>Sure...but $8000 worth of 20s and 50s?
you been to a downtown Manhattan girlie bar lately?
Those infidel sluts are summin else, yessiree, abu!
$8000? Is nothing. Four people had $8000.00. That is $2000 each. Big deal. They had some maps and a camera? Heh
I guess I would side with caution though. Not that big of a deal though to have $8000.00 among FOUR people.
Are you arab? Muslim?
If your answers are yes, then yah, yer a suspect too....calling FBI now....
"I hate to say it, but I've carried subway maps, own a video camera and sometimes carry $50 and $20 bills."
I carry $8,000 dollars around all the time. /sarcasm
Maybe some details not released to the press?
They found the camera, the maps and the money in their apartment. The only thing unusual is the amount of money. If I didn't trust banks and shared a place with three other guys there might be $8,000 in our combined matresses.

I knew an EMT who said "plugs" are great for bullet wounds and puncture wounds. (the little ob brand)
If I were a stripper I would profile guys and only dance for non-terrorist looking ones. I'm very good at spotting the good guys! So are the police, which makes it ashame that NYC is going to assign a numerical value to the system on subways to search every 10th or 20th person, no matter if they are a nun or an old lady or a muslim. No profiling, and no cop gut instincts. It's suicide.
bttt
Were these guys roofers or landscapers?
>>search every 10th or 20th
Don't believe that for a second. Counting is a subjective act. NYC Cops after what happened in London. NO.
