It was a dark and stormy night. I was sitting back in the Mad Mammoth study, reviewing the latest threads on Free Republic, when my MSN Messenger icon barked that I had an email waiting.
I went to my InBox. What did I find? I had a very angry email from some schnook called 'lcjohnso' taking me to task for some long forgotten post I made on FR. Called me out. Wanted my address. Wanted to visit me with a bunch of his pals "anytime, anyplace", I'm wondering to myself "WTF is this nonsense?"
So I responded in a fairly cavalier manner, basically telling the misfit to pound sand and "get off the computer before your mommy gets home from the store".
I didn't think any more of it.
Until - "bark bark", MSN Icon was informing me of another NEW email!
I go to the InBox. Sure enough, it's this lcjohnso clown again, and that's when I realized it was really the one and only Larry C. Johnson, self-proclaimed expert on "intelligence", "terrorism", and author of that infamous NYT article in the Summer of 2001 claiming that terrorism was a "declining threat".
I poured another glass of Hiram Walker, on the rocks. I wondered what Johnson must be drinking, was it Boone Farm, Thunderbird, or M/D 20-20?
This time, I let him have both barrels and reminded him how pathetic it must be for him, a highly touted "intelligence analyst" to be reduced to trying to intimidate a lowly poster on Free Republic.
I signed off by encouraging him to "get professional help".
Haven't heard from him since, but since my original posts

Did a google and came across this:
democracynow 2003 interview
After reading the democracynow interview and checking the berg-associates page, I have come to the conclusion that the only thing bigger than his lies is his ego.

with reference to here:

Is this our guy?
It is indeed. Larry C. Johnson's business website is "Berg-Associates.Com", and when he was interviewed on PBS a while back, his business identity was reported as being head of "The Janus Group":
"Larry Johnson is the president of the Janus Group, a security consulting group. He believes the threats are exaggerated to ensure funding for military research institutions that are currently missionless."

Look at the Whois for Berg Associates. You'll see the same email address, etc.

"Try this on for size Mr. Secretary, the United States and its allies in WWII defeated the Third Reich, Italy, and Japan in 1364 days (that covers the period from 7 December 1941 until 2 September 1945 when Japan signed the surrender documents)."
Also, in WWII we still shot traitors like Larry Johnson.

Thanks for posting it anyway. These cowards need a little more light shining on their treasonous ways.

I had this nagging feeling that Berg Associates was related to an American contractor killed in Iraq, but that was Nicholas Berg. (God rest his soul.)

From 1989 until October 1993, Larry Johnson served as a Deputy Director in the U.S. State Departments Office of Counter Terrorism. He managed crisis response operations for terrorist incidents throughout the world and he helped organize and direct the US Governments debriefing of US citizens held in Kuwait and Iraq, which provided vital intelligence on Iraqi operations following the 1990 invasion of Kuwait. Mr. Johnson also participated in the investigation of the terrorist bombing of Pan Am 103. Under Mr. Johnsons leadership the U.S. airlines and pilots agreed to match the US Governments two million-dollar reward.Managed crisis response operations? Organized and directed debriefings? Got U.S. airlines to match the government's reward?? Yeah, he's a real mover & shaker.

Larry reminds me of a carnaval geek, who travels around with the circus to help put up the tents and act like a clown. And he makes a living at that. I think he does well...and I just wonder if I could find work like this...pretending I was a expert on Afghanistan economics or Iraqi turtle racing.

Good morning bump! Thanks for sharing the email exchanges. I had a sneaking suspicion your original thread might disappear, and copied and freepmailed the contents to myself for archival purposes. I'm extremely pleased to see this thread this morning and hope Mr. Johnson is enjoying his 15 minutes.
Personally, I feel he is as much a traitor to our country as Joe Wilson. Johnson continues to spout the lies that Wilson was sent to Niger at the request of Vice President Cheney. This has been refuted by numerous sources including Wilson himself. Wilson, a former State Dept. official and adviser to John Kerry, and his wife, CIA, actually concocted this lie in an attempt to smear a sitting President during wartime. They are operatives for the democrats who used their cohorts in the mainstream media to subvert the national security objectives of this administration. Traitors, the lot of them.

You can't be sure who is posting you. I once got into a debate with people who claimed to be former members of the Reagan administration, back in the '90s. They said I deserved the death penalty-- heheheheh! It was a wild debate, got to tell you, but I doubt series-ly they were what they claimed to be.
