Coke Fiend Bin Laden
New York Post ^ | July 26, 2005 | Dan Mangan

Posted on 07/26/2005 4:07:27 AM PDT by Commander Salamander

Osama bin Laden tried to buy a massive amount of cocaine, spike it with poison and sell it in the United States, hoping to kill thousands of Americans one year after the 9/11 attacks, The Post has learned.

The evil plot failed when the Colombian drug lords bin Laden approached decided it would be bad for their business - and, possibly, for their own health, according to law-enforcement sources familiar with the Drug Enforcement Administration's probe of the aborted transaction. The feds were told of the scheme earlier this year, but its existence had never been made public. The Post has reviewed a document detailing the DEA's findings in the matter, in addition to interviewing sources familiar with the case.

Sources said the feds were told that bin Laden personally met with leaders of a Colombian drug cartel to in 2002 to negotiate the purchase of tons of cocaine, saying that he was willing to spend tens of millions of dollars to finance the deal.

It was not clear where the meeting took place. Bin Laden hoped that large numbers of Americans dying from poisoned coke would lead to widespread terror.

"They wanted to kill thousands or people — more than the World Trade Center," said a source.

Although the drug lords would have reaped millions of dollars in profits by selling the cocaine to bin Laden, they knew that if his plan succeeded it might effectively destroy the market for their coke in America for years, sources said.

But that was only one reason they declined bin Laden's offer.

Boy that's putting it mildly. Imagine all your customers dead. That would include all of Hollywood!

That's why they won't poison the Opium stock. -Doesn't sound right though, The Coke Lords wouldn't have to know they were buying from Bin Laden for the purpose of poioning it would they?

Seem like Al Queda could buy smaller amounts. Now they are saying he MET with them.. I don't buy the story entirely.

They way they would do it is have the Jihadist CELLS do the buying and the poisoning. Que no?

You need Bin Laden to create a scenario where the Columbian drug lords are the "good guys".

Columbian coke lords would have given up Bin Laden just to cash in the reward...and then laughed about it later.

Wouldn't that be a bitÇh to wake up one morning and find half of Hollywood, half the lawyers and corporate leaders dead? Hell, that might be a plus on the war on drugs.

Actually, this can be a pretty good argument for legalization. It's tough to imagine AQ even approaching the likes of Anheuser Busch or Seagram's with an idea like this.

Interesting.

He's trying to strike out at what he perceives (rightly) as being "sinful" targets.

I wouldn't be surprised if he tried to strike the entertainment industry at some point (LA, Vegas etc.)

(But then again, why would he strike his allies in the USA?)

I just heard a snippet of this on Fox & Friends. I thought they meant Coca Cola - sorry - age difference, I guess. When I hear 'coke', I think Cola.

Los Zeta’s would have put a bullet in uncle Bin's head, just for suggesting drug competition.

They don't make cocaine from opium. Heroin comes from opium, cocaine comes from cacoa leaves from south america. While I believe that heroine use is on the rise again, there isn't really enough use for it to be worth while, and it would destroy most of the finances of those people.

LOL.. thank heavens for capitalism. I guess there's not many business decisions you can take that's worse than deliberately wiping out your own market base...

Maybe the drug lords will begin thinking that Al Quaeda is bad for business.
