Flashback: Cash and Kerry
Newsweek ^ | Feb. 9 , 2004 | Michael Isikoff

Posted on 07/25/2005 7:39:31 PM PDT by bitt

John Kerry needed cash, and soon. In July 1996 the Massachusetts senator was locked in a tough re-election fight, so he was more than happy to help when he heard that a generous potential contributor wanted to visit his Capitol Hill office. The donor was Johnny Chung, a glad-handing Taiwanese-American entrepreneur. Chung brought along some friends, including a Hong Kong businesswoman named Liu Chaoying.

Told that Liu was interested in getting one of her companies listed on the U.S. Stock Exchange, Kerry's aides immediately faxed over a letter to the Securities and Exchange Commission. The next day, Liu and Chung were ushered into a private briefing with a senior SEC official. Within weeks, Chung returned the favor: On Sept. 9 he threw Kerry a fund-raiser at a Beverly Hills hotel, raking in $10,000 for the senator's re-election campaign.

Romney?? Heck no! He makes a feeble show of it once in a while, but when he does, they just override anyway! And he supported Dems in their election campaigns, NOT Republicans. He is no help.

They do a fine job of making laws that, to most people who have jobs, serve as gag orders, lest they be fired. Even tried to get Federal intervention at one point, but the SC refused to hear the case. US Constitution guarantees every state shall remain a Republic, but MA is anything BUT!! We are trying!!

He does what he can, but will not be re-elected. There is no more outrage in Massachusetts, (or CT for that matter, [our so-called R gov is a bigger lefty than Lieberman]).

From Saturday Night Live:

"Norm MacDonald: Now, Al, uh, you've been covering these midterm races?

Al Franken: Uh, yes.

Norm MacDonald: Any general trends seem to be emerging?

Al Franken: Uh, yes, Norm. This appears to be the roughest campaign year ever.

Norm MacDonald: Negative campaigning?

Al Franken: Oh, yeah. Yeah. I've been covering politics for a long time and this is, without a doubt, the most mean-spirited year I've ever seen. Now, take for example, Massachusetts [scattered applause] where Senate challenger Mitt Romney is spending millions of dollars on attack ads like this one. Watch.

[Dissolve to ad with photo of a ruddy-faced Ted Kennedy accompanied by minor key music and a deep-throated, smarmy announcer's voice over.]

Announcer V/O: On October 14th, 1978, Ted Kennedy is seen puking in the parking lot of the U.S. Capitol. ... On February 8th, 1983, Kennedy relieves himself on the leg of a Georgetown waitress. ... Two years later, Kennedy passes out on the floor of the Senate, soiling himself in the process. ... Kennedy -- He's a big, fat drunk. ...

[Cheers and applause as we dissolve back to Al and Norm at the desk.]

Norm MacDonald: Yeah. Yeah, that was tough.

Al Franken: It's a tough year. Tough year. ... And it's really become a no-holds barred contest. Uh, watch this. This is one of Kennedy's attack ads on Romney.

[Dissolve to another ad with minor key music and a deep-throated, smarmy announcer's voice over.]

Announcer V/O: [Image of Brigham Young] Mormon prophet Brigham Young believed that a man ought to have as many wives as he wants. Apparently, Mitt Romney agrees. [Side by side images of Young and Romney] After all, he's a Mormon. [Upbeat trumpet fanfare as we dissolve to a photo of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Kennedy.] Ted Kennedy -- One Wife at a Time. ...

[Cheers and applause as we dissolve back to Al and Norm at the desk.]

Norm MacDonald: Okay, so Massachusetts, then, is the nation's dirtiest race.
...."

Sorry I missed responding.
With Ted Kennedy, it's all in the name and the power in that state that he obtains...shamefully, hands down. If you get a chance, go to www.ytedk.com and read all about how the state of Mass. covered up for him, big time. You or I would've been hung out to dry, in the hot Phoenix sun.

I don't know if I could stand to read it without throwing up! Just looking at the fat drunken pig makes me sick at my stomach--then he opens his mouth! Barf!

Ted Kennedy is just one of those rotten democrats out there that are damaging this country. It's hard for me to comprehend, that he's ignorant of the ugly rant he's spewing out to embolden the terrorists.

..and yet....it's Bush's fault!

He is a true slimeball!

This is bad, but I keep hoping he'll get up to do one of his rants and will just fall over. God forgive me!

No the people of MA aren't that immoral, but our government here definitely is!!

Yes... a majority are not immoral... but they allow the immoral to rule them.

They're pods.

Can anyone explain why Clinton, gore and Kerry are not hanging upside down from a bridge. Oh yes, gutless GOP leadership.

Sorry, but I must have missed the part where you laid the blame on a corrupt White House, Attorney General's office, and 45 Senate Democrats who refused to view evidence and rendered public verdicts before the "trial" was even held.

Yes, it's all the GOP's fault. Everything is.

It is the GOP's fault for not pursuing it with the zeal the rats pursue made up stories like the Rove/Plame laughing stock. We try to take the high road all the time and it gets us nowhere. The GOP has been able to push the rats away for the past eight years. If we could expose their malfeasance and prosecute a few for selling our nation out the rat party would be done for decades. I just want the GOP to finish something once in a while. Don't let the media twist facts like they did with Starr and Rove. Hold press conferences like the rats do. Let the voters know a sitting president sold nuke technology. Show the people that Clinton/Gore were soliciting illegal campaign funds. Press the impeachment all the way through to the endhttp://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005WSV7/qid=1122380158/sr=8-7/ref=sr_8_xs_ap_i5_xgl14/102-3879541-2449751?v=glance&s=books&n=507846. Read this and you will understand. It was even written buy a rat. Show voters all the anti American comments these freaks make. Put the rats away for good.
