Breaks your heart.
Oh geeze, a coworker took a weeks vacation to help out at the Jamboree. I do hope he's ok.
Newest round of stories out there are listing four, not five, deaths.
Can this be laid at the doorstep of the ACLU? Didn't they recently file a complaint against DOD for spending funds to prepare this site for the National Jamboree each year?
Absolutely tragic. Prayers going out to the families and all who witnessed this terrible event.
That could be. I wasn't aware of that.
Nothing would suit me more than seeing the ACLU taken to court and relieved of their absconded from the public and used for mis-guided purposes funds.
bump for later
Prayers for all involved.
Prayers and Sympathies Offered
to Scout Leaders' Families and Friends
Four BSA leaders died in an electrical accident at Fort A.P. Hill between 4:30 and 5 p.m. today while setting up camp. Two other individuals were also injured in the accident. One is a Boy Scout leader and one is a contract worker. Both are in stable condition.
Our prayers and sympathies are with the families of each of the victims. It is a tragic loss that is shared by everyone in the BSA. Counselors and chaplains are at the jamboree and available to any Scout or leader.
A thorough investigation into this accident is underway.
"GFCI is a good safety device'
It sounds like more than 110 volt.
May the Lord comfort those involved.
The son of my dearest friend is attending the Jamboree this week. Thankfully he and his group are ok. Initial information is that while setting up a tent, a pole of some type hit a wire overhead causing this incident. Prayers for all those involved.

==================================
Thanks for the info. It sounds like they hit a main power line with the pole while standing on wet ground.
Awful.

I called and my son's adult leader said it was 4 kids and an adult that had a heart attack over it.
carjic...that is the info. that I heard from my friend as well....their leader was about 100 ft. from this incident. I heard about the boys...but didn't want to put it out there until the info. was confirmed.
Sorry, but with my 13 year old there, that was the most important info to me.
