Variety is one of the last places I'd expect to see an anti-PETA ad. But, what do I know.

Welcome to FR.

Washington Times, June 22 - Columnist Gene Mueller writes, "What's going on in the offices of People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals? The same sanctimonious animal activist group that pleads for donations so it can stop us "blood-thirsty" hunters and fishermen once and for all is in the middle of a smelly affair involving the euthanization of pets picked up at animal shelters. G. Gordon Liddy is a peta-phile?!? The rest of the list looks pretty much like leftist losers, including Paul Harvey Jr. (I'm surprised his daddy isn't on the list).

I found this article from the Wilson, NC local paper website quite suspicious.
PETA strikes again?

July 20, 2005

Someone is snatching cats in Wilson County
The Wilson Daily Times

Someone identifying himself as a Wilson County Animal Control officer has reportedly been stealing cats in the county.

Carl Utley, Wilson County Animal Control supervisor, said there were two incidents Monday of someone stealing cats.

The person was driving a white van with what appeared to be a county seal on the side.

Utley said a woman called him and reported one of his officers came in her yard and stole her cat.

"After she described the person (a tall, white male) and what he was driving, I told her we do not drive vans," Utley said.

Animal Control officers drive trucks. The white van had sliding doors, Utley said.

The Sheriff's Office was notified of the incidents. One occurred in the Wiggins Mill area and the other in the Grimsley Store area near Stantonsburg, Utley said.

Incidents like this have happened in the past, Utley said, but those mostly involved the theft of dogs.

If anyone sees someone in a white van, dressed as an animal control officer and going into someone's yard, they should try to get a license plate number and contact the Sheriff's Office, Utley said.

ummm. the foundation for biomedical research is the ad-sponsorer. WHile I hate PETA for offing doggies, I have a hard time cheering an org that probably has no problem burning off their fuzz to test cosmetics, or injecting them with Whatever Juice to see what happens. both groups are exercises in asshattery.

use prisoners instead! and illegals! :)
