Okay, I'm getting a little confused here...If they live in this house why is it listed in the rental properties as for rent? Seems as though they have been in this house for some time you wouldn't think the owner would be advertising it for rent. Not saying it is or isn't their place jsut wondering out loud. (but typing quietly)
I'm off to do some laundry..ugghh. Check back later..

Is the VDS house NEW? And is the one advertised with an apartment or servants quarters and pool? I don't know?
I guess it depends how deep the well is, and what it's used for if the next person finds it. I don't know if the VDS's are renting the house? Are they?
Now, I'm really off to do that laundry...double ugghh!

The FBI knows how to get things done! Those Aruban law enforcement people are something worse than entirely incompetent. Maybe they're in their positions based on who they know, instead of what they know.
You are, of course, correct. I was thinking only of the shady characters on the island in my comment and it would certainly be unfair if I tarred the honest harkworking ones with the same brush.

A lawyer for Natalee Holloway's family said a tip from a witness led authorities to drain a pond in Aruba.
The lawyer said the witness told police last week he'd seen a 17-year-old Dutch teen and two Surinamese brothers driving near the pond the morning the Alabama teen vanished. The lawyer said the three young men previously told police they were at home at that time.
The pond is near the hotel where the teen was last seen nearly two months ago.
The family's attorney said investigators "consider the witness to be very credible."
Officials expect to have the pond drained later today.
Joran van der Sloot remains in custody. The two brothers were released by authorities.
Holloway was on the final night of a high school graduation trip when she disappeared.

They have vacated it due to the media attention - Not sure who owns it, but who ever owns it... owns 12 or 13 more house on the island. If PVDS owns it then he put it back up for rent or if PVDS does not own then the owner put it back up for rent since the VDS's have left it.

The VDS house is YELLOW - The Kalpoe house is CREAM - the media had it wrong back then - Greta video taped the VDS outside the YELLOW house when PVDS was dripping with sweat.
If someone else moves into that house, it will contaminate the crime scene, if in fact it was a crime scene, and you can bet a defense attorney would use that.
They shouldn't be allowed to rent that house out.
Likely, "New" in Aruba could be

To me from the pictures the house that is the same color of the Vandersloot house seems to be to "barren" - not enough plants and things around it. I also got the impression that the VDS house did not look that new...

There is a pool in the backyard as Deepak said that is where they sat and planned the drpped Natalee off at Holiday Inn story - (of course that was lie - but why lie that have a pool in the backyard?) and yes the address is #19 Montana
