Mr. Roberts has not left much of paper trail of judicial opinions or even speeches and extemporaneous comments, leading some conservatives, including the great Ann Coulter, to fear that we have another Souter on our hands.
I don't have the knowledge to weigh in on this subject, but I did find, courtesy of John Lott (author of More Guns, Less Crime) a list of RealAudio recordings of Supreme Court oral arguments in which Roberts was one of the advocates. Of course, in these cases he as adopting the positions of his clients, but nevertheless listening to these arguments should, I imagine, provide some insight into the man's style of thinking.
