As a citizen of one of the UN’s permanent security council members, Bill Clinton is not eligible to serve as Secretary General of the UN. Several of us on a different thread when through this several weeks ago. Finally somebody provided a link to the UN Charter. Turns out there are no restrictions. Klintoon could indeed by Secy Gen of the UN.
Wish I had a link to reassure you but it's long gone.

How about a Federal $5 per pack tax on cigarettes, a $10 tax on a bottle of bourbon, a 35% tax on prostitution "fees"? A return to Prohibition? Demo Rats are clueless Jackasses.

Shoot, if you run across it and remember, send it to me. I was reading some info, and it said they are usually picked from middle power countries, like Canada. The next secretary is supposed to be from Asia. China wants it bad from what I've read.
Hmm..."tax porn", or offer a tax break to ISP's that offer "parental controls". The latter IMO, would spurn on cometition between ISP's and just might attract more customers. My SquidGuard updates it's blacklists nightly. It's not that difficult. Hell, I bet the ISP's would see an overall lower bandwidth usage to boot.

Yes, but he could relocate to Ireland, renounce his U.S. citizenship and serve the "U.N.".. There have been rumors to that effect already.
I believe Clintoon misses the public adoration and attention enough -- he is capable of anything to regain that rush -- and perhaps build a more respectable "legacy" that the impeached rapist president legacy....
If his wife achieves her goal of the White House - there would be no need to continue the stage marriage - and Clintoon could live happily in Ireland with his "new love"...
Or --- the U.N. in their lust for Clinton, could put a rule change to a vote - couldn't they?

A democrat advocating a new tax. Wow.
Yeah, but a Democrat speaking out AGAINST porn? These are the people who agreed with the Supreme Court's rulings concerning Internet porn, child and otherwise!
Has there been a falling out between Larry Flynt and the DNC?

I guess I was wrong, see 21. It's asia's turn next. I guess he'll have to move to China, why not though?

adult Web sites, which typically sell monthly subscriptions to Internet users to look at pornographic photographs or videos. Anyone who *pays* to look at porn on the net is a chump. It is all out there for free if you know where to go.
...and don't bother FReepmailing me asking what sites to go to 'cause, um, uh, porn is eeeevil. Yeah, that's it...

How about a tax on ALL broadcast Political ads, Radio, Television, and the Internet?
To: SmithL
New taxes are like an infection.....they spread to everything in time.
The only cure for the Democrat disease is an informed voter.
That's why the NEA continues to dumb down America.

Hell, China would be perfect for the bastard....
He's always been their boy......they helped him at least TWICE to get elected and in return he gave the Chinese the needed technology to direct their ICBMs to our grand-children's bedrooms.....

Us tobacco using FReepers saw this was coming.
It's not about the porn. It's not about people, "Not paying their fair share."
It's about a government never satisfied.
And, like we've all said before. They won't stop with this.

Beware!! According to the Dems, FreeRepublic is the same as pornography. The Dems say our site is filled with Right Wing FILTH!. Once "they" tax one portion of the Internet - the rest is soon to follow!

And, like we've all said before. They won't stop with this. The lawmakers draw blood from one group until the blood runs dry. Then the lawmakers go after another group. One by one. Oh yes! They sure won't stop with this.

Youre right , this is just a start. First its porn , then its sales, then something else till they tax the whole damned thing. On the surface this doesnt sound bad, but it is deeper.
To: SmithL
A Democratic lawmaker is planning to propose a new 25 percent federal tax on Internet pornography and new requirements for adult Web sites to help prevent children from looking at them. Sorry...Camel's Nose is NOT getting into the Internet!
If they succeed with this...you will not stop them from taxing Free Republic next!

A politican doing something "for the children." And yet, I feel very suspicious all of a sudden...
Any kind of internet taxation should be shot down, even if it is porn. It'll always lead to them taxing something else on the net.

Internet porn is NOT all for profit. There is plenty of hard core crap out there for free - I know because one of my kids found it. :(
So this IS just a foot in the door to taxing everything on the internet. As much as I abhor porn, this isn't going to help anything and is just another dem slippery slope.

The only new tax i'd support is one on abortion procedures.
