· New studies have demonstrated that women who have abortion have drug abuse rates, accident rates, suicide rates and higher morbidity and mortality rates overall than the general population. This merely confirms what has been known for over five years: women who carry to term, on the other hand, have lower morbidity and mortality rates than the general female population.
the implication of causality is possibly misleading: These women seem to be generally sloppy, self-destructive, incapable of delayed gratification (or deficient in this trait), and irresponsible... accidental pregnancy and preference for abortion over longer-term options fits that pattern. In other words, these other traits and use of abortion my be symptoms of common deficiencies in character or personality.
cant they just keep their legs shut?

If conservatives and pro-life people were smart, they would split the abortiion faction in half by not fighting the morning after pill, and other pregnancy preventers. The battle for pro-lifers should go to defending prenatal infants, where the doctor has already diagnosised pregnancy. By acknowledging pregnancy, the doctor has admited, a baby is on board. Let us end the termination of "pregnancies" as they are just a veiled forced death for prenatal infants.
This is all from the perspective of what-abortion-can-do-for-me, ignoring the death of the unborn child.
Sadly, the growth of organizations like Project Rachel testify to all that this solution is never the answer. Many of these women are hurting and it is time for us to recognize it and to help them in every way possible: emotionally, prayerfully and with love.
